OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

On her next day off, she needs to get a ride to the main base and she should take her laptop with her, to connect to the internet. She should also talk with her chief, there should be a trained VITA rep on board her ship to help with taxes. She will most likely relax after she makes some friends.

Do any of you wonderful moms know if PIR Graduates attending A School at Great Lakes (my son, Dive Prep) have to wait (ship5?) before they start?

Kelly: I didn't know they could be attached to other units either. Our recruiter is a Gunner's Mate and he is now deployed and attached to a Seal team. He said Gunner's Mates could be attached to any kind of unit.
