Hi again everyone!

Hoppi - Congrats to your hubby on his upcoming retirement!!! And B/Z that he already has a job in civilian life. Good luck to you on finishing up your homework for your college classes. You are one busy lady!

Have a good night everyone; catch up with you tomorrow.

Good day all...I'm a little late signing on today as I treated myself to breakfast out with a friend.

Ditto on everything Bill, Gary, Dori, Anti M and Debbie said....The Postal Service flat-rate boxes are the best way to go I think.

Will - get that work rolled out so you can enjoy your in-laws....I was thinking last night that some questions got lost in the comments down below and it was good to see that you addressed that so they will post again.

Kay - welcome to our group with the greatest people you can find anywhere.

Hope a great day is happening with all of you....

I wish I had figured out the flat-rate boxes sooner. I sent Victoria some of her favorite cookies. I could have sent several packages of them for less then the one I did send her. She said she and friends ate the whole package in one "girly" party. I'm not sure it would have been good for them had I sent more!

Will, have a productive week so you can enjoy your company!

Welcome, Kay. It's good to have you. You are showing good wisdom and restraint. I know that is difficult to do. View it as practice for those sea deployments. Enjoy the graduation! That will be such fun.

Welcome aboard Kay, What rate is your son? You will find answers to all your questions here, and if we don't know we will find someone that does! A word to the wise. Be mindful of what you send your Sailor as far as clothing. He may have to change barracks 2 -4 times while in school and they have to be able to pack and go on very short notice. My son sent home 3 boxes of stuff because he couldn't move it all in one trip, and what they can't take with them they have to leave behind until they have free time to go back and get it which could be a week or more. Send only the absolute minimum until he figures out what he really wants. Once he starts A school he will not move again and will be able to have more if he wants. You will be surprised with how little they can get by with as far as clothing. Hope this helps. Please keep us updated with your sons progress.

Have a great day everyone. Keep your digits crossed for Brett. Still hoping he gets his orders this week! TTYL

LOL on the Big Bucks, Will. I remember saying that ... too, too long ago. Have a nice visit with the family.
Comment by Anti M on July 21, 2009 at 12:52am
Kay, do use regular mail. The packages will go to a mailroom and he'll get a notice saying he has a package, and will have to get the time to go get it. Very rarely the timing is right for them to pick stuff up the day it comes in. That makes overnight a waste of money usually.

I wouldn't recommend fedex or UPS. The package still goes into a mailroom or office!

Good evening everyone...and a big welcome to our newest members.

Karol/CA - and for all of you who are following the story on Irene's step-son, Colton...I just heard that his story will be on CH 9 news tonight at 9pm out of Los Angeles. I am definitely going to watch. My prayers remain with him and his family.

Goodnight all....

Lorei - my dog goes nearly everywhere with me except in this extreme heat we are having so I surely understand. And, he is so well behaved and I am a fanatic about cleaning up after him. It's hard for me to deal with the dog owners that leave the mess.

Melanie - that's ok. I know you got busy and I sure understand that one. I'm leaving for Georgia next Monday and will be gone for over 2 weeks, so maybe we can chat before that....(((hugs)))

Gary T....LMAO - I'm so glad they let you on!!!! Sure would miss you if you ever left us. :D I probably don't have to worry about a pet on base because I most likely won't make it back there while Michael is there, but sometimes my doggie has to go where I go if I can't find a sitter. So, I'll store this info for the future. Thanks!
