Th NEX does have credit and layaway options. This works if she's good with credit, or has a card with a low limit in order to learn how to manage credit. No sales tax, that's a plus.

Talked to my granddaughter this afternoon. She is officially a sailor and out of boot camp. She said she gets her orders Monday but doesn't "report" until June 9. I gather she will move to the A school side and to assigned duties until the ninth. She said she found it difficult to stand so long during the ceremony. Her complaint was the shoes rather than the standing. She kept thinking, "If I faint, my grandmother will kill me!" The girl behind her fainted and Victoria helped her up. She said that circulated some blood and the rest was okay.

I was proud of her. She assigns the watch (she is port watch??). She assigned herself a four-hour watch. When asked why, she told them that they had family at GL but she didn't, except for a short while today. So she wanted them to spend the time with their families. That's my girl!

I told her the iMac wouldn't work and she sounded upset. Then I told her I might negotiate an interest-free note on a laptop. Her assignment is to check out options through NEX. Then she was all happy.

Cold and rainy on the coast of Maine. Hope the weather at GL is pleasant.

Dawn - what a horrible experience to go through. I'd wait until Hoppi or Will jump on for an answer as to what you should do. I'm sure they will enlighten you. I hope my daughter will never have to go through something like that.
Gary - SAFE flying and driving and make time for some fun, too! We will miss you...so hurry back! My congrats to Nick on his first Naval commendation; I know you are a proud Dad.
Natalie - your pics are great! I cried like a baby when I saw Shane come off that plane. I can just imagine what you were doing being right there. He's such a nice looking young man. Put July 27 on your calendar so we can try to meet up...

Roni - we do have days like that, don't we? lmao

Natalie - I will be sure to remind you as we get closer to the July 27th date; that is the day I am driving down. I will be staying at a hotel near Ontario Airport that evening and my flight leaves early the next morning. We will make it happen. I'll be checking out your pics this afternoon....:D

Karen C - thanks for the welcome back. I missed everyone, too! I am addicted to this site as you all know....lol It is always good to get back home, but I did have a wonderful time with my family.
I'm going out now to the local restaurant and have lunch.....be back later!

Natalie - we definitely have to meet one of these times I am down in SoCal. My next planned trip will be at the end of July unless Michael comes home on leave before that...

Vee, it's nice to see another grandmother on the list.

Victoria's PIR was this morning and I have been hoping that my older son would call to tell me all about it. They are probably having too much fun. Both are talkers.
