Melanie - I forget what type of A school DJ is on hold for. Michael is on hold for GM A school. I didn't think they could get leave while waiting for A school, but Michael put in a chit for it anyway. I hope DJ gets to surprise his GF and be with you. The earthquake was not felt where I live in California; I am about 250 miles away from the epicenter.

Natalie - I'm going to be in the San Jacinto/Hemet area and maybe in Ontario. Our family reunion will be out in Hemet on Memorial Day....Everyone will be there except for Michael.... :~{

Oh, Natalie, I think they are ok with it, too! Unless we slip up in front of their "adult" friends....lol lol
I have a granddaughter, 31, and I have always told her she will always be my "baby granddaughter"...then I got another granddaughter younger than her..so now I am in a pickle...lol
I'm going to get to see all of them this weekend in SoCal when my kids from Georgia get here for a few days...I am so excited!!!!

Rock Star...I'm with you! I used to hear them coming, too, when I lived down there. I heard it on the late news last night and at that point they were saying a 5.0, then changed it to a 4.7. I was waiting for my SoCal kids to call me, but it may not have been too severe where they live.
I think our Adult Grown Young Men will always be our babies in our hearts ;~}

Natalie - Be sure to let us know when Shane gets his leave to come home.

Good Monday morning everyone and a WARM WELCOME TO DANI...Hang in there with us until our leader, Will, gets back and I'm sure he will answer your question/s below. Congrats on your son's PIR (graduation from boot camp) and the best of luck to him on the rest of his Navy career.
Laurie - the only INDOC I am familiar with is the one Michael went through immediately after his PIR when he got to the school side. Maybe each base has their own INDOC for the sailors new to that base?????
Melanie - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Shane to get his leave. Michael put in his chit quite a few days ago for leave while he is on hold for A school; so I'm sure anxious to hear if it was approved.
Brenda - WooooHooooo, only 4 days for those hugs....Good for you!!!
ENJOY!
Everyone HAGD!!!

Laurie, it's been ages since I was in Half Moon Bay, but it's one of those places you never forget. If I told you how long ago, it would date me...lol On the same trip we were driving through Carmel and passed Clint Eastwood jogging on the road. Are you driving over there or biking? We participated in a bike event yesterday in Bishop. A charity poker run/BBQ for the handicapped group in town. Spent the afternoon enjoying the shade under the oak and cottonwood trees at Elks Park....I'm not riding long rides yet due to my knee replacement surgery.

Awe, Laurie, can I join you at Half Moon Bay? It's one of my favorite places on the Cali Coast. ENJOY your weekend there! Yes, Will is missing. He was in a buddy's wedding in VA and didn't come home yet...lol lol lol ET (Will) call home!!! It's going to be record heat here today....97 is predicted and then we should start cooling down about 10 degrees. Way too hot for this early in the year. But it beats the cold N/W winds of winter.
