Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome BHappy, take me with you next time. Sash is one of the five young women who attended the retreat last weekend. She is a real delight. Lucky future MIL. Here are two photos.

Sash, be sure you get your future mil to join this group and rsvp for the Aug 28 event. Gosh, she lives right in the area. See the "LINKS to MEET and GREETS" discussion above. It has a link to RSVP for the August 28 Meet and Greet in Merced.

I spent the last day with five young women (the North Cal Retreat for Young Wives, Fiancee and Girlfriends). Our future is in good hands. I thought being an "elder" mom (since I am old enough to be a mom to some of our Navy moms), I would have pearls of wisdom to pass on. Wrong. I learned from these young gals the meaning of perseverance, dedication, tolerance, focusing on goals, money management & friendship. I came away feeling if the future of our country is in the hands of these young women and their sailors, we will be OK. More than OK.

BHappy should be back from Japan soon. She'll be surprised at how many pages she has to read. :)

Katy, I took the chat box and playlist off the SF site because a number of members were experiencing real slow down on their computer. I personally haven't seen it slow down but the playlist does funny things if you do the pop out feature. Also playlist.com send me a bunch txt messages on my cell phone - cost us $25 extra because I gave them my husband's number and he has limited txt minutes.
