Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

Welcome Dannielle. I see you have RSVPed "might attend" for the Aug 28 Meet and Greet. We will want that to be "attending" soon. I am live in Santa Clara County but the San Francisco Navy Recruiting District extends from Porterville to Oregon border, so we are all one big family.
Wolf Girl, do you think you have to get insurance for that lens? In the San Francisco Bay Area Navy Families site, we have a bunch of PIR tips and be sure to go to FORUMS on the above menu bar, click PIR category - you'll find lots of tips too. BTW, lots of chicken soup for you!

I would be afraid to even rent a lens that cost that much. Have a great weekend with your daughter.

Wolf Girl--
I so happy you heard from your girl. When does she do Battle Stations? That "I'm A Sailor" call will come after Battle Stations. I didn't get that call, I was in the air, enroute to PIR when he finished his B/S. Enjoy PIR, at least it won't be snowing or freezing when you go, my son PIR'd 12/04/2009. Have a great time at PIR, don't forget your kleenex and your camera. Take lots of pictures, its definitely something to remember.

Our older son is a nuke officer on a submarine, stationed in Hawaii. Has a degree in EE, went through OCS in spring '07. We live in Santa Clara. I am coming to the Aug 28 Meet and Greet. Hope everyone will be there! :)

It's really nice here in Santa Clara County - 68 and sunny. We had a wonderful meet and greet in Healdsburg (north of Santa Rosa - for those unfamiliar with the wine country). They are really the best part about being a part of N4M. I am hoping that there will be enough members in Central Valley that there will be one right in your own back yard. I keep my eyes open for Cali members (in the SF recruiting district) all the time.
