Merced also has a Blue Star Moms group. We meet on Thursdays at Gateway Community Church at 7:00 pm the second Thursday of the month. That means we are meeting tomorrow. Saturday, August 20th we are having out second annual Run for the Fallen. If anyone is interested let me know and I will share the details.

My son is out on his first deployment on a sub. Can't wait till he gets back to hear about how he liked it.

Well has been a long time since I was on here, was a busy month. My daughter has now been married a month and is living with her Marine on base at Camp Pendleton. It was a very nice wedding and  they had fun dancing and such at the reception. Ended up with a lot of food, fed the neighbors for a few days.

I remember when my son graduated he went to A school there in Great Lakes but since then have moved it to Texas. Some were grad n go which meant for them that they moved their things to the A school side and got to spend the weekend with their family. My son had duty both Sat and Sun so had to have him back on base by 5 or 6 O'clock which made it where we didn't go into Chicago.

We are going to go see him in Dec to pin him as he advances to E3 and will be our first time seeing him at his duty station at the Clinic. Hard to believe it has been over a year that he has been in.

Sharon, thank you I will be at that meeting this month.  I teach a woman's bible study on thursdays so IDK how many I will acutally get to attend but I will be there this month.  Thank you for the lead on travel we are looking into that now.  On the form letter it says to book a refundable ticket (which is to expensive for me)  however there seems to be an additional option of changeable ticket is that just as good???????

Timsmom=

We are usually done around 8 - 8:30, we'd love to have you all come and check us out.  If your child is/has been in the military, then you are a Blue Star Mom.

My son is finishing submarine school in CT and will be stationed in Hawaii.  He joined the DEPS program last year and left for bootcamp in August.  It has been one year since he has been gone.  Miss him....I so want to come to the Blue Star Moms Club on Thursdays; however, I teach that night.  :-(  How long does the meeting last?  Maybe I can stop by at the end to meet all the military moms.

Hey Sharon

I Just got back to town from a long weekend in Pacifica.  You're right the BSM meeting is th 18th of August, the 3rd Thursday of the month.  1Stlove, think about joining our Blue Star Mom group in Fresno.

1st love;

My son had his A school at Great Lakes, I was able to spend the whole weekend with him.  I had to have him back at the base each evening by 9 pm.  We also did the toursit thing in Chicago it was a ball. He had grown up so much during boot camp.
