OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi! I'm new here, my son just left for BC on 02/11/13, he will be going into the Nuke program.  Are there any other Moms out there on the Western Slope?  If so I would love to meet and have coffee, or something, just to get in touch with someone else who is going thru, or has gone thru the same thing. His ship date came really fast for us, he just decided in November 2012 to join the Navy and then 3 months later left...

My wife and I had a great time too....

Pam - Have your son come to my website, http://www.navydep.com/forums/

We will pump him up with soooo much info.  I have a lot of active duty sailors come back and pay forward to the newbies about to enter boot camp.

If he does nothing else, have him look at these two posts:

For you, you should read every post here.  You will know the entire story...

See you guys at 6pm...  Jim & Nicks is in the Southlands shopping center, next to the hotel.  The hotel backs to Smoky Hill road.
