While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

When I was talking to my sailor this weekend, he said after he completes the Lab Tech training, if he takes two english courses, a humanitarian course, and one other course (I can't remember what it is) he'll have an assoicates degree. I told him to concentrate on completing his schooling right now, but as soon as he got to his first duty station to start looking into taking some online classes.

Welcome, ladies! take a look at the links above, including the link to "A School for Corpsman" , those folks have more up to date information on A School stuff than we do, at least, more than I do. My son is in his 5th year (? I think) so my info is about GL when A school was there. It's different than in San Antonio. My son is an instructor in SA but not at that school.
I do know Texas, tho..and it will be hot, hot, hot in San Antonio. If you come to visit at any time, make sure you hit Schlitterbaun in New Bransfels...water!!!

Hello! My SR (husband) will be graduation 6/10 with Rebecca's daughter (below). He hasn't mentioned when he'll be starting A-School but hopefully it will be sooner rather than later! Just wanted to pop in and say hi. Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Hi all. I am new to this group and I hope it's the right one. My daughter is currently at BC and will PIR on 6/10. She will then ship out to SA for A school and will start on the 21st. Any information will be sooo appreciated.

I have read the last five pages. Thanks for all the information on post Navy Certification for Corpsmen. Now I know how to advise my son throughout his Navy career. It sounds like he needs to jump at every opportunity for C school and college courses; and, we should all become active in the plight to have Corpsmen training recognized when their service is up! Is there a group I can join to help with his cause?

My son is entering year 7 in the Navy, no word yet if he's decided to re up or not....He's now an instructor after the first 5 years greenside, and he's somewhat near home. So who knows?

Hi Ladies..1wind, yes I did. It is so nice to be able to be in a group with other moms. I met so many friends on here and got to meet them in GL at the meet and greet. It was awesome!
Texasdoc, yes my son was a grad n go..He left after grad at 4:00am to the airport and waited until 11:00 am to fly out. From what I have been told that is the way they do it..
Well, I just wanted to say HI! And I am thankful for Navy for moms!
