For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Susan mom to Niko on May 31, 2012 at 2:24pm: Remember moms... when you send a package it goes into the mail system of the US post office and then the navy post office system. When the navy gets it they route it to where the ship is supposed to dock next. If they change their plans then the package may sit a bit before the pallet of supplies and mail can be rerouted to the ship.

Comment by kathim on May 31, 2012 at 9:36am: I mailed our sailor a box MONTHS ago: checked the address with our postmaster and he personally posted it. (I added the Benfolds name just in case): guess what MONTHS later, no box. I am retired Navy as is my husband and I know how important getting a little something from loved ones is. Very disappointed. We were both medical, not supply, so I really don't know who to gripe to, but it is unacceptable

Comment by Kim on May 23, 2012 at 10:03pm: My son has his first duty station in Norfolk Va. He will be on the USS Williams, DDG 95. Hoping My husband and I get stationed in Norfolk in Feb. Crossing my fingers. My youngest son graduated boot camp May 11th and is now in Pensacola. Hoping he gets Norfolk also. We can only pray.
