I'm fine Brenda.  Thanks for asking.  How are you?  I got to talk with my Sailor today, so all is well with the world.  It's the little things, like getting a call, that settles a Mother's heart.

I feel your ache Julie.  Last year my Sailor was on deployment.  This year, he gets to come home :)  Next year, he'll be back on deployment.  Ya gotta hug 'em when you can and leave marks!

Have a wonderful week ladies!   Dang computer, I keep hitting add comment, but it won't.  So if you get this a couple of times, you'll know why.

Indy, have a great time in SD!  Hug that sailor tight and leave marks!  What airline do you use?  Are there inexpensive places to stay that are close to the base?  To fly from Grand Rapids, MI to SD is about $515.  If I can fly out of Detroit, it's cheaper, but now I have 3 hours on the road and gas.  Then back again.

Renie, my Sailor and Indy's is on the Stockdale.  They went all over.  Japan, Guam, Thailand, Korea, all over.  He loved seeing the world and experiencing different cultures.  He's got lots of pictures.  There are a lot of ships in SD, any Mom that has been there can tell you all about that.  I've yet to get there, but hopefully next year I will.  I hear the weather is fabulous.

We have been to SD twice to see our son who is in STG school. Will finish up soon and will leave SD. We have just loved it there. The second time we hit June Gloom. But always a wonderful time. Have been to all the sites and stayed at some wonderful hotels on Shelter Island and Harbor Island overlooking the bay and watching the ships come and go...

Hi Colleen, thank you for the Welcome. Where did he deploy to the first time? I am so excited for our sailor to see the world. What ship is your sailor on? Do you know how manyu different ships there are out in SD?  Maybe someday we can meet as I love San Diego.

Welcome Renie!  My Sailor is in SD on the Stockdale.  For us, Chicago is closer.  I'm trying to get out to see him before he deploys again, but it's hard to plan because like A Sailors Mom said, there schedule is as solid as jello.
