OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Colleen on October 14, 2011 at 5:45am: Hi indyrules and A Sailors Mom. 104! In Michigan, it's a little rainy and we won't get out of the 60's today. By next week, lows in the 30's and highs won't get to 60. Indy, have a great time when you get out to SD. Squeeze 'em tight! Sailors Mom, that would be something to see - all those ships decorated. I'm running the Grand Rapids marathon on Sunday. Pray for no rain! Cold I can deal with - rain and cool . . . . . no thanks! Sailors Mom, my Sailor said he is doing a Mud Run out there. I guess with those hot temps, that mud run will feel cool. aatlmom, are you north or south Indiana? I'm just north of Grand Rapids. Have a great weekend everyone.

Comment by aatlmom on October 13, 2011 at 9:26pm: Dear Indy Rules, My son is an ET also. He just got back from 3 week drills on the Pacific. Great to talk to him! We live in Carmel, Indiana. I am sure you can't wait to see him! I haven't seen my son since May! Where do you stay at when you go visit him? What are the visitation rules there? Thanks for any info!

Comment by Colleen on October 13, 2011 at 8:25am: My Sailor was assigned to the Stockdale Jan. '10. This was the Stockdale's first deployment. He went to BC in July '09. What rate is your Sailor?

Comment by navy25 on September 24, 2011 at 12:46am: Hi Colleen,thanks for responding anyway I was there but over 25 years ago Im sure alot has changed I went with my girlfriend her brother had returned from Deployment on the JFK Carrier and we got to tour it it was amazing but I was in my early 20s so the rest is a blurr of the area just loved visiting the Beach and the ship.Who would have known then that someday I might be back to see my own son comeback from deployment.Life is funny.How is your Sailor doing how long in VA
