angeal...kelly...HELLO!! I hope you guys are not in the land of OZ... I hope all the storms have passed for all of you. Its a beautiful sun-shiny day here..FINALLY!!
Trying to get some yard work done, but the town is abuzz with word that the FBI is in town asking questions about Max..lol! His job requires top secret clearance, so they are here interviewing a lot of people. They went to our neighbors, all of his friends...OUR friends, and even to the SCHOOL to speak to some of his teachers...Im just glad its over..i knew they were coming, just didnt know when. He said that he was never so nervous in his life as he was last night when they came for him on base. He said his mind went completely BLANK and he couldnt remember the names of our neighbors OR teachers...LOL...poor thing. Just another step in the process.
Janie--i was reading up about the USS Lincoln on Wikopedia...very interesting. Im sure shes flying high with the news that shes finally getting out of GL's...good for her!!! Everyone...keep me informed about the ship names of your Sailors...im trying to educate myself on all of them...never too old to learn something..:)
Kelly---omg..be careful out there on the streets!! AND, I too, have gained SO much weight!! When i saw the pics of me at Maxs BESS graduation i could have DIED!! I havent been eating that much, but im still gaining..i dont know why!! SICKENING!
Living on a deep, peaceful farm isnt all its cracked up to be...there is SO much work. I went out today and looked at all the work. There are trees down from the storms, and branches are everywhere. If i see ONE MORE BLOSSOM on my porch (looks like snow) i am going to SCREAM!!!
Janie---FINALLY!!! i am so glad that Jessica is finally on the move..i bet shes happy. YAYYYY!!!! please let us know as soon as she sets sail!
I am SO hooked on American Idol!! i LOVE James. He has one of the BEST voices i have ever heard. Im rooting for him to win it>>>FINGERS CROSSED...LOL!
Kim---GOOD NIGHT!!! Get some sleep girl!!...thats what im going to do right now..
Ok on the car info. I drive the Hyundai Veracruz which is their top of the line suv, you don't see many because they limit the amount that are made. It resembles the Lexus 350, my gas milage isn't bad but my husbands Sonata gets great gas milage and its a beautiful luxury sedan and he just has the base model but it comes with so many extras. Let me just say don't consider a jeep liberty. I just got rid of mine and thank god it was a lease, it is terrible in the rain and snow! It was 4x4 but I slid all over the roads and never felt safe in it. My husband just read that it received terrible reviews on reliability.
I guess all of us have been hit by the economy. Life has not been normal since November 2008. I like to call it bizarre. Our life as we knew it change so much several times as well as it has for many. I have my health, my family and that alone has me blessed.
Hi Ladies.
I dont know about you guys but I gained so much weight over the winter. I know that I am very lucky and do count my blessings but it seemed I just fell into a depression after Chris left. I am such a stress eater. I am always envious of those people who dont eat when they are stressed and they lose weight. I am such the opposite. So my niece's friend is a fitness trainer and is running a bootcamp for the month of May (paid for by the boys leaving change in their pockets lol) its three days a week at 5:30 in the morning. YUCK...but I know I will feel better when I lose some weight.
Every body seems to be hit by the economy. So sad. My work laid off 56 police officers and crime is skyrocketing. We are so overworked and things are getting very dangerous. I work in the Major Crimes Division so I see it all, which adds to the stress. I want to live on a nice peaceful farm deep in the country...Someday
One bright thing is my beautiful grandson who just brings sunshine into my day when he comes over. He is almost six months and is such a character. he makes the funniest expressions. I could just stare at him for hours.
I am on call this week so I am going to bed right after American Idol (love Scotty and Lauren) I have gotten called out twice this week in the middle of the night so I am pretty tired............
Chris is desperate to buy a car and calls me everynight about it. I feel so helpless I dont know how to help him. He is so far away. I guess they have to fly on their own at some point:( Good Night girls...............
Jan Good Luck!! You will be fine. Just be yourself and take a deep breath!
Let us know how it goes.
Janie---i feel so badly for you. You seem so down. I think we take it harder than our kids. Now i know why MY dad is always so mushy-gushy when i see him...hes a PARENT!!! I know that youre so sad because you think that shes sad..its a killer when things dont go their way. You probably just want to go up there and make everything ok for her, but your hands are tied. Its frustrating..i hope things go her way soon.
Sherry---OMG..we have been hit too. My husbands business (very successful for 25 years) has hit an all-time low. We have two homes, and weve been trying to sell the one, but NO ONE is buying!! Ughhh! If i could sell that house, all of my problems would go away..lol Hence me looking for a job. He hurt his back and will be down for a while (maybe forever), so i need to step up and do something. We sold our main vehicle last week, and we are now down to a pick-up truck and two work vehicles. We got to do what we got to do. If this job pans out, i will be car shopping right along with ya. Hopefully it does. Janie told you about the Hyundai..that was the rent-a-car i had while in AZ, and OMG...the gas mileage was so good (would have been even better if we didnt get lost so much, lol) It was easy to drive AND park...haha! We had to drive on a major interestae for 7 miles (we had GPS, and still got lost)..it was 6 lanes, dark, and everyone knew where they were going except us. They were hollering at us, beeping their horns...i was so nervous. Finally we found our way back to the apartment (miracle), and when i pulled into the parking lot..i realized i didnt have my lights on!!...hahaha! We were laughing SO hard i was peeing my pants!!! (that happens all the time..lol)..then i realized that we could have been killed!!! No wonder everyone was beeping at us...CRAZY!!
Janie- my hubby is good. He hates that i may go back to work, but he doesnt have a choice. Plus...my kids are out of the house, there's no reason why i shouldnt. I do like the freedom of not working, but i really need the money..LOL..
WHO DOESNT???!!
Angela - your friend is very fortunate to have such a great friend like you to be with her at this time! Safe travels!
Jan - YOU GO GIRRRL!!! You're gonna do great with that interview today ... very best of luck to you!
And, Janie ... you crack me up! I'll be watching for that stork! LOL! ;o) My gal said the same thing about BC ... those processing days were the WORST! It is hard to watch our kids grow up and go off on their own. We both have strong, confident, determined young ladies that we've raised well and are now serving their country in such a great way. I really DO think they get their "grit" from their mamas! (Be careful up there on that roof today!) ;o)
Y'all are right as far as calling it quits with this car and looking at a new one. I just don't know how well I will fair with the credit thing, cuz right before my son had his motorcycle accident (still working on all of those doctor/specialist bills), my first attempt at purchasing a home (alone) went belly-up. I, too, am one of the foreclosure statistics that hit our nation with the economy crisis. ANYWAY ... enough of my sob story ... it'll just get me down if I go on about it! I will be checking into my options in the new car arena this weekend. Wish me luck! :p (and, Janie, thanks so much for all the info on Hyundai! Hadn't even thought of that make.)
