Good Morning....Just a reminder, don't forget to bring items for the "Molly's Adopt a Sailor" boxes that we will be packing after our lunch tomorrow. (For those who can be there - we will be going to a park after lunch to box the items. I will have maps at the lunch.) See you all tomorrow!! Go Navy!

don't worry. my husband wasw a basket case until our son's box of clothes came. He had called when he got to Chicago but the phones weren't working at Great Lakes when he got there, so he couldn't call. Angela, your reaction is totally normal

Angela, he's going to be fine, I'm sure. They're just so totally busy! Diane's mom - it was so funny the day my son swore in at MEPS; I thought he'd be taken in a van or something to Sky Harbor, but no, a gorgeous Lincoln Towncar fro Execucar pulled up, the chauffeur hopped out and opened the door for him and off he went. I thought, so THAT's the Navy! Not bad ;) And oh how I loved those letters. Wish that habit could have continued!

I really can relate to the pain of leaving for Boot Camp. I remember I was fine until we got on the elevator & left our son. It was the hardest thing we had ever done. It's really hard waiting for those weekly letters. But those letters will come & it will be over before you know it.

Trust me, our kids usually don't listen. Mine thinks he knows everything about everything. He still has a lot to learn

You're like me, wanted to give him a headstart! I know what you mean about missing him, he's my only child. It does get easier, and it helps so much that he loves what he's doing.

Found it! Interesting. How did you learn of that - Tony's recruiter?
Comment by Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom on January 4, 2010 at 10:56pm
Mine's an anesthesia tech. I can't get that link to open for some reason.
Comment by Marcy ~ Corpsman Mom on January 4, 2010 at 8:35pm
Angela - I recommend that you go to a bookstore and buy an EMT-Basic Exam review book (Kaplan is a good one) and give it to Tony after PIR so he can read through the applicable chapters (anatomy & physiology, airway, etc), and take the sample quizzes at the end of each (it doesn't take long). It'll give him an overview and a feel for the material.
