I'm not real worried about BS. He's a big team player so I know he can ace it. I just worry if he'll pass his run before he misses the last BS before his scheduled PIR. Members from other sections of this site have already given me the BS dates. I don't think he's been sick. I know other SR's in his Div were from his letters but he did not mention he had caught anything. I guess it's possible. In a few of his letters he's told us that he's having trouble with the run so we almost expected the call but it was still a blow to get it. I put the PAO number into my cell so I can call Monday afternoon and see if I can get some info. I'll put on my best southern charm and see if that helps. I grew up in a Navy family and spent 2 years in the Army myself so I know a little about going through channels. It just sux being on this side of the country and the answers are on the other side. Not knowing is almost as difficult as knowing most of the time.

Thanks for the info Sandy. Yes his PIR is scheduled for this Friday. To save money we bought non-refundable/non-transferable tickets from Atlanta to O'Hare for the 25th and we've already registered at the Ramada for the 25th through the 27th. We still plan on making the flight regardless to show our support but I'm afraid we may not find out until we're sitting in the stands that he won't be graduating.

Can someone offer some insights for me? Our son was sent to FIT last Wednesday because he had trouble with the run. He called after the test to let us know.

I cant remember where I read it (maybe here) they test the recruits every other day until they pass. If that is accurate he should have taken his retest yesterday. My question is if we did not get a call from him yesterday does that mean he passed his run?

I know for sure they are able to receive mail, I assume they are able to send mail also, if I remember right they go back to only being able to write mail on Sundays again.

Does anyone know if they receive mail while in FIT?  Are they able to send mail?

I have a question.  My son is in the FIT program, he has pneumonia and couldn't pass his run test.  His original graduation was the 12th of August.  I was told by the PAO that after the doc releases him, and he runs his test and passes, that he will call.  Then he will go to the next battlestations and then he will call again. (The "I'm a sailor" call)  But I also got information that he will only call after he passes battlestations.  So my question is will he call twice, or will I only receive my I'm a sailor call?  I thought maybe someone here would be able to tell me.  Any help would be appreciated.
