For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I have been in touch with several of my military contacts and have heard back from a couple.
group 1: forward medical unit in the Afghanistan. 200: 25 sailors, 175 Marines. 15 female.
3-10-10 update - I will mail the balance of 20 on 3-11-10. thanks for your help!
group 2: This batch of whatever number we send is going to Afghanistan also. Dawn is a civilian employee who is retired Air Force. This is what she said today:
Did you want the address of a unit or did you want to send them to me to distribute to the female soilders? Unfortunately there are no all female units. I will be heading out to some smaller forward operating bases (FOBs) on the front lines once a month and think the pillow cases would make more of an impact there as little luxuries are non-exixtant. Whichever you prefer. Also, if you have any bakers...they love fresh baked goods!
So mailing to her is the way to go for a personal delivery. Just general ones for now, as I don't know what services she will visit as yet. I know many of you just mailed, but if you want to send some to this group, email me for the address.

Sue - Could I adopt 20 males from this group? I have that ready to go in my stash. That will fill one medium box and will reduce my storage amount slightly. I'm going to be moving back to my Colorado house at the end of the month so reducing my stock will actually be a blessing - and it means I will have room in my car for new fabrics I'm hoping to buy next Monday! Just let me know if that works. Thanks!

Cheryl, they are yours! I will email you the address and you can mail anytime by next Tuesday, the 9th. I plan to mail a box on Thrusday as I was going to the PO anyway.

I found some Bugs Bunny that says "What's up Doc?" and Rx on it. Two are cut out and ready to sew. I've been waiting to send somewhere medical. I can also send more. I'll have about 12 by the end of the evening. How many do I need to send. I am in a mood to sew :) Just let me know how many to make!

Kim, that fabric sounds so cute. you decide on how many. 12 will have to go in a medium box, so do you want to fill it with pcs (Iknow you can get 20 in it) or do you want to put snacks in the box.
Just let me know and please confirm the number that was snet. . I am going to post in the desription of what I have you down for. If I haven't posted your name yet, it just means that I am going to let you know for sure what to mail.
