For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Laura, thanks. I'll get back to you on that! Dori, do you need fabric? If not, Laura, I'll have you send it to me. I'm sending out a notice to my HAE sewing crew. So I hope some more will step up to the plate.
Even if this big project doesn't work out, we'll tell you then. I just don't want to say because of the details. Dori is going to monitor this for me. Thank you! -

I purchased 5 yards of patriotic material today and I was going to get my girlfriend to show me how to make them since she is already making pillowcases for the HAE project and she said just bring the material to me and I will make them for you so I should have mine by the first of next week. Not sure how many 5 yards will make but count me in. I will have them ready to go when I hear shipping info.

Matt's Mom, be sure to let me know how many you make. They are easy to make and hopefully you learn how. It is nice that your friend will help you. The number you get made depends upon how you combine the material.

You should be able to get 6 full pillowcases (all one print) out of 5 yards of fabric, if you cut them lengthwise 30" and the width is about 21-22" wide.
If you pair the fabric with other fabric to make a "banded" one, then the 5 yards will stretch further. See the photo above.
I did do alittle work on this project today. I am excited. One funny thing the gal I was talking to said "you couldn't get them done by such and such date." I said "are you kidding me? Dori just gave me a count of 291 and once people know what the project is, they will jump on board."
So we are waiting a bit to annouce. I hope to know something in the next day or so. The gal was excited by the end of our conversation. -
