Good for you Sue. To often kids look up to the wrong people and it is sad.
Happy Veterans Day to all who have served this great country The United States of America.
You are all eagles in my opinion, which is such a magnificent bird and why we have it as our national bird.
At school this week, I have been having the kids make "American Hero" cards which will go to veterans. I told them that our American Heroes are our military, not celebrities or sports figures.
I do not know where the time goes! I posted some more thank you notes today.
new numbers posted. I am catching up on some notes tonight.
mailing wave 3 to the Anchorage now.
I'm behind on thank you notes. But am going to start to catch up so check out the Essex etc.
Oh, it has been awhile since I was last on here. I went to Milwaukee for my dad's service and when I got home I hit the ground running. Today I am finally getting to slow down and catch up a bit.
Military honors were done for my dad as he was a Navy vet. I tried to film it but I got a blank. My sister did and I have posted it on FB on my page. When she emails it to me, I can post. What a moving site that is!
I read Carol's poem at the service after I talked about my dad abit.
I posted new numbers as wave 2 for the Anchorage is done.
new numbers and Carol is a HAE crew member
ANCHORS AWAY
By Carol Coddington
9/12/15
For Sue, in memory of her dad
On the anniversary of 911
A sailor died and went to heaven.
God said to him, welcome to my ship up here,
Welcome home, oh sailor so dear.
Please know that I have been waiting for you,
And there is a job I have for you to do.
Send back a sign to those you love,
Let them know you are fine here up above.
No problems, no worries, no troubles or pain,
Just the love of the Lord is what you still gain.
Let them know that the ship you are on
Is led by the Father, and steered by the Son.
Let it be known that you have thrown your final anchor overboard,
And have finally come home to sail with the Lord.
