WOW. shame on me! It has been over a year since I posted on here. I have been using the FB page more often. That said,
Heads at Ease has committed to sending pillowcases for every person on the USS Abraham Lincoln since their deployment has been extended for several months. If you would like to help with this, please let me know. Thanks!
I brought 2018 list up to date. Check it out
nice to have you back NitaSewBee
Hi Everyone. I am back. and I missed you all. I have so many memories. of making pillowcases. I remember 2010 when I helped make pillowcases for the Abe Lincoln Christmas project for the USSS Abraham Lincoln. Sue, how have you been. So your son is out now, glad to hear you are still at it just the same.I was in the group when you lost your baby grandson.. Does he have any siblings? Looking forward to reconnecting with everyone.
Heads at Ease hit a milestone on 4-27-18 when we passed the 80,000 mark in less than 10 years! The actual number was 80,412 with the last wave to the USS Iwo Jima!
Great job CREW!!!
And to celebrate, here is a great thank you note and 1 of the
reasons I still do this even though my sailor left the navy in
2011:
Good day to you fantastic Americans!!
I just wanted to reach out and express my gratitude for the cowboy boot pillowcase I received from my friend Hector who got them from your organization. You are some great people and we really appreciate what you do!!
I actually just got a new pillow and was ready to put a t-shirt over it when I saw the pillowcase on my bed.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Char, Anny, and Kathy!!
-dave (he's a marine on the Iwo Jima)
Those 3 gals are local sewers and Kathy is a grandma to a marine. She was very happy to get that note.; It is in the top row, middle with a teal cuff and red flange:
We will finish up the USS Iwo Jima this week. Then we move on to another ship.
new numbers posted. Wave 6 for the USS Iwo Jima goes out this week.
We ended 2017 at 77,588. I have posted the new numbers this year.

WOW!!!! It has been awhile!
Well, again I say, where does the time go? My apologies for being so tardy. A quick update:
We are currently mailing to the USS Iwo Jima. We have mailed 4 waves so far, for a total of 1,947 pcs. We need at least 700 more, so if you have some made, please let me know. Wave 5 begins tomorrow.
One of the HAE crew has a son serving abroad this ship so that is a fun connection!!
