For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

We make/mail pillowcases for deployed military: Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard & Nat Guard. As of 9-1418, we have made/given out 82,816 since 6- 08! YTD 2018 is 5,217 We have note cards & labels, please send me a message for them.

Comment by Maryellen on June 20, 2014 at 1:21pm: Well we have some good news here in AL We bought a house. Its a nice 4 bedroom 2 bath with a 2 car garage and wood burning fire place. we should be closing before the 18th of July and moving by the end. Here is a picture of the House.

Comment by Sue-Pillowcase lady on June 13, 2014 at 9:51pm: I am posting a photo here and in the USS Bataan thread of a gift that was sent to HAE. I received it on Wed. What a blessing it is. The hard part of a unit sending a gift to HAE is it has to go to someone. This time it was me.

BUT let me be clear that it is a gift for all who contribute to HAE! While I founded this project 6 years ago this month, HAE is done with many hands. And many hands make light work.

I appreciate all of you and I know that everyone who receives some comfort from home in the unique way that HAE gives, appreciates your hard work as well.

Funny store to tell, My daughter is stationed in Sicily and low and behold in comes 4 helos from the USS Bataan to pick up mail. She works the hanger bay and flight strip there. They were loading mail on to the Helos and she saw several boxes with our big red hearts on them. She made sure to tell the Marines to make sure nothing happens to them or she will have to tell HAE. The asked he why and she said my mom works with them ladies and there is delicate cargo in those boxes, they are full of Love from back home. One Marine told her Yes Mama, we will treat them like they are fine china. So they got them and they are now on the ship. It's a small world.

We just finished mailing to a Coast Guard ship. HAE only did the Coast Guard 1 other time, maybe in 2010. It was fun to do another.
