Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of March (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

If you have March ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in March, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves (Click on the link.)

Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones)  Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.

***New news just out today (9/25/19) from the US Navy Recruit Training Command FaceBook page:
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.

The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.

After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

OMW it's 97 days.  It's scary looking at the calendar now.  I am looking forward to it but not at the same time.  Our house is going to be soooooooo empty.  But this something she really needs to do.  She's an adult 24 but not.  so very comfortable in her own little world so this will be a real wake up call for her.  (she's spoiled) :-\ (our fault)  I know when all is said and done she will be a much better person, have confidence in herself, get it, that she can't always have the last word, and mumble under her breath:-].  Please don't get me wrong, she has a wonderful heart, it's just past time to grow up.  So for this I'm excited and can't wait to see her and who she is when she get's home from A school.

OMG after the weekend we will be down to less than 100 days! I can not beleave it. I don't see my son much sence he is liveing with a friend maybe that is why it is going fast....I am still praying that he decides to come live at him soon!

Skell456, we are just really not spending money for the time being and we have talked to parents about the "just in case" that could occur financially while he is gone.  If all goes well I will have enough for rent and the utilities saved up for the time he is gone, so even if he ends up getting paid after 3/4 weeks or so I will be ok, and I've been told several times BAH may not show till week 6/8 lol, which will do me good for moving to IL but not while he is gone.  I am actually going to move up to IL graduation weekend, crazy?, maybe, but I will have family and friends that weekend to help and that puts H at ease. I have also ordered certified copies of our marriage license and will be getting my passport soon, neither of which we may need but I sure want to be ready in case.  That kind of planning can come in handy and keep you busy for a little while lol.  Plans of course could change, which is the best advice I can give you, that nothing is happening until it happens. Stay flexible, have back up plans and remember that this life is going to be an adventure! I have to remind myself to stop and just breathe (daily usually) so know you aren't alone! I do know worrying about the what-ifs and all doesn't get me anywhere so I'll take it as it comes.  = )

For anyone who doesn't know me!!!  My husband leaves for bootcamp March 29th as a AO.  I am super scared and excited.  Is anyone else leaving that time?  Preparing is the worst!!!  Just the thought of him being gone and the unknown.  I am nervous about pay and when we will leave and where we will go and just everything.  I am so proud of him at the same time.  Any advice?

Welcome ITSN 2BE welcome to the group, my son signed on as an OS and leaves a couple weeks after you.

The Army Navy game was amazing today my son said he got the chills when the entire stadium stood in silence while they (30 Deps) were sworn in and then the cheer that erupted when they finished was AMAZING!  Started to really hit me that he is going, I held it together when I was there, it's a little harder now that I am home.
