I know I'd like to be part of a lunch date! I haven't really met many of the wives here. It'd be nice to make some friends :)

thanks casey! Doors are already opening for him ( sort of). He was the first (and only) one in his class to get approved for group study hours and permission to volunteer around base etc. there was also talk of promoting him to assistant class leader. hopefully i will find out more tonight, and definitely this weekend. :)

The Comfort Inn in North Charleston is absolutely amazing. It's a little pricey directly but if you group it with a flight it's pretty reasonable.

momof5--have you checked Days Inn or Quality Inn on Redbank Rd? They are the closest to base. If you're lucky, the Foster Creek Villas (on base)...next two closest: Holiday Inn & Wingate in N. Charleston (about 4-5 miles from base)

not a problem, sounds like quite a few of us will be down in charleston this weekend visiting our favorite sailors! I fly down from JFK on Friday and stay until Sunday. We will be celebrating him making phase 3 and kicking butt in his division (currently at the top of his class by a significant amount) so proud of him <3

momof5- go onto priceline.com/hotels.com/etc... they will have the best rates for you for a last minute booking. you may nit find one near the base... but at least you can find a place to put your head down.

Hi all, we are leaving on Thursday to go down to see our son in S. Carolina. We're having difficulty finding a hotel. Any suggestions, every one is booked. Not going to stop us from going anyway...

I must say, right now I'm considering just packing a bag, getting in my car, and driving 12 hours to Charleston. It's only been a week, and I'm so ready to have my sailor back. This being lonely thing isn't very much fun :( We're both ready to start our future together... if only the future would hurry up! On the bright side there's only 7 months and 16 days until I turn 18, and I don't have to follow my mom's rules on when (and how) I see my sailor. :)
