Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Thanks P'nut. I am enjoying him and also sharing him some. Since I moved last month, he is going up to our old area where most of his stateside firends are for the next few days and then Sunday, he will go up to Chicago and bring his sister back Tuesday, so I'll have them both for 9 days. I'm so glad for that!

Thanks Deborah! It is great to have such fantastic info in one place. We have a pretty good idea what to expect in basic and so on as my husband is career Army and my son-in-law is in the Air Force. As we are new to the Navy though it is great to have a place to get that Navy specific info. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome purplemom......you came to the right place to learn. I wish I had known about N4M before my daughter went in, and also during BC. It is so cool that the families of the PIR class (pass in review) get to communicate with each other while their kids are going thru it. There are a ton of really awesome ladies on this site who are always eager to help each other out!

Hi Everyone. My son will be heading to BC in December (possibly earlier) and then to MA school. Looking forward to learning lots about the Navy.

Thanks everyone. He did put most of his things in the spare room and even did dishes today at lunch. It is so great to have him stateside and home. (Since I moved, home is not HOME for him, but he does have friends less than an hour away and it's only about 4 hours to the area where he had spent the 8 years before the Navy.) His dad is going to pick him up tomorrow and bring him back Friday--I'm glad they can have time together as well.

Deborah, he took a short leave last Oct. when his girlfriend at the time went to where he was stationed then. That's it, I think. I passed on your thanks. He said to thank your Sailor as well (everyone).

lemonelephant......LUCKY YOU!!! Enjoy, but I know what you mean, after not having them home making messes, it take some teeth gritting, but like you said, it's worth it, just to have them home.
Comment by lemonelephant on August 3, 2010 at 6:41pm
My Sailor is home for 25 days!!!! I was so glad to pick him up last night since he hasn't been home since Dec 2008. I'll have both of my children home in a couple of weeks for a week. My sailor is off with a friend right now and I am not liking and yet liking at the same time the mess he left in the living room.

It is disheartning for our kids to have such a tough time getting beyond E4. My daughter has hit the same thing. She made it up to E4 in two years, but now has been "stuck" for over a year.
