Wow, I have to read back quite a few pages.  You have all been really chatty on here.  I'll be back to respond after I catch up.  :)

How is everyone doing? My son was home last week for a little over week. Really enjoyed him being home. He is now in San Diego. Enjoying the weather. He will be in the USS Boxer. He just keeps saying how nice it is there. Hope everyone has a great summer.

Joanne- sounds like a fast "now you see them, now you don't" visit with the boys. Hope they get to eat some crabs!

You did spell Kerrin's name right! Well done! He doesn't live too far from where we will be staying. I chose a place in east London because the travel to meet him after his work wouldn't be so bad. I'm hoping east London has had a make over since I lived there cause it never used to be a nice area. Near the docks on the Thames. I use to live in North London which has become a very posh area now! I will keep in touch Joanne.

Joanne, I hope you get to have some time with the boys. I thought Kevin already graduated- I remember you going to it. Is this from his last school he's graduating from then?

I will be leaving next Monday. EARLY! Have to get up at 4:30. My husband will pick my mom up and then come back for me and then we all will go and pick my daughter up. We leave out of Dulles. Plane takes off at 9:25 which is wonderful as it's a day flight. We arrive in London 10pm their time [ 5pm for us]. This day flight is so much better than the over night one which I did 2 years ago. I will get to see my son the next day- haven't seen him for 2 years!

Storm wasn't bad- but boy did it rain!

Welcome kfquay! My son is an EM too. He graduated PS in December 2012 and has completed his first tour.  He is on a sub and he has no idea where he was.  I agree with Lori - the less I know, the better! I grew up in Gambrills which is close to Severn.

Joey and his fiancée, Julia, have set a date - September 6, 2014.  Julia found a dress, they have the reception reserved (Elkridge Furnace Inn) and have done their registry at Bed, Bath, & Beyond.  Joey wants to be involved so they have to do things when they are together, which isn't often right now since Julia lives in NJ.

I hope everyone was safe and had no damage from the storms tonight. A tornado touched down somewhere here in Eldersburg - a bit too close for my liking! Luckily, we had no damage.

kfquay- welcome to our Maryland group! So nice to have new mom's join us. This is a wonderful group of mom's [ ok I'm probably a little biased!] and we try and meet when schedules allow.

Joanne is also a Nuke mom so you have company there!

I'm sure you are proud of your sailor- being a Nuke is a tough job. I only know from other mom's as mine is an ET [ electronics tech] and works in an "office." He's been in for 3 years [ oh my time really is flying by!] with 3 more to go. He's been assigned to a ship and on tour to the Middle East [ the less I knew the better my sanity was] and is currently out to sea again so I don't hear from him too often. I'm hoping he can get leave to come home this summer sometime but we haven't heard yet. He's my "baby" at 25!

So glad you found our group- if we can help you in anyway let us know!

Linda- I know you would have loved to have had more time with Joey and "sharing" is tough on us moms! Do they have a date for the wedding yet?

Hi, I just found this off the Nuke moms site! I live in Severn, Md, my son has been in a year now, graduated BC last year on 6/15. He's an EM, getting ready to graduate Power School on 6/28. He's doing very well, was honorsman in A School, and doing well in PS. So very proud of him but miss him tremendously! So glad there is a group of Moms in Md! This has been such a journey but the Moms have been such a help and support. It's great knowing people who have answers and who are there to support you.

Lots of activity here!  I'm in my heaviest teaching right now at work and haven't been able to post.  Joey came home last Sunday and just left today :(  For all of the new moms, my sailor is on the USS Louisiana in Washington and is an EM. He graduated from Prototype in Dec.

Joey was here with his fiancée and they got some wedding stuff done.  I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I would have liked due to work, but we did go to the O's game on Tuesday.  We had a relaxed evening yesterday with dinner and sitting around a fire in the fire pit.  He thinks he will be back to MD in December.

Remembering all of the fallen heroes on this Memorial Day.  I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Ladies! I know all of you will be a big support to me as my daughter leaves for bc on July 16. I have enjoyed reading your posts. I am in Phoenix MD , north of Towson about 8 miles.

bonitacruz- that must have been hard having her turn 19 in bc. For you AND her. That's amazing she was rushed off so quick. Unusual really. They must have allowed for the fact that she hadn't had time to prepare though! What rate is she? What A school is she in?
My son was a DEPper for 9 months. He's been in the Navy 3 years and has 3 more that he enlisted for. He's an ET [ electronics tech]. This time last year we were out in SD for his first home coming on his ship. That was an amazing experience watching that huge ship come in. He loves the west coast. I'm hoping we will see him sometime this year.
