Cori I like the fierce looking dog! Is that like a mascot for your battery? I am still having a hard time figuring the Navy lingo out- so forgive me if I am clueless about the Army stuff!
Thanks Linda! I hope you hear from Joey soon. ((hugs))
Joanne, when do you leave for OK? I bet your are just bursting with excitement by now. Have a safe trip and thank him from us. Please give Kev a ((Hug)) from all of his Navy moms too. :)
Betsy - How wonderful that your son got the Captain's coin.
Joanne - So glad you got to talk to Jason. Have fun in OK - doesn't sound like there isn't much to do there. But at least Kevin will graduate - congratulations!
Lori - I didn't realize that is where your son is. San Diego is a really pretty city - I would like to go back as a tourist and not for a conference.
No word from Joey but then I wasn't really expecting to hear form him. I can send emails but he sent a short reply to his fiancee that we probably wouldn't hear from him for awhile. I know he is busy qualifying for his job, so i'll have to wait awhile to hear from him.
Linda- you were where my boy is! Well you definitely had nicer weather there than we did!
Joanne- that's great Jason called.Good thing you heard the phone!
Anna- I'm sure you enjoyed every minute with your kids. I've never been to Gettysburg. Wasn't it cold there?
Hey Cori dear! Miss you : (
YAY, it sounds as though we are all ready for another lunch. Let's throw some dates out there now. :)
And, YES, it's killing me not to tell my daughter, lol. But, I just keep reminding myself that she will be so excited to tell me, that I am keeping my big mouth under control. :)
Joanne, Since, it's the end of the month, I would guess you are probably in GA now enjoying your time with Kevin? Give your new soldier a hug from us and thank him, please.
Linda, nice, I love SD. I hope you had a good trip.
Anna, I hope you had a nice visit with your family. I'm so happy for you, that you are closer to them are able to have more time with them.
Betsy - congratulations on your wonderful news; can't wait to hear it is official!
Joanne - Where is Kevin's graduation?
I'm in for lunch too.
I can't really complain about the weather as I was at a conference in San Diego last week. Temps were in the 70's and it rained tha day I left. I'm glad it's going to warm up a bit this week.
Joanne, Can't imagine the graduation ceremony being outside! How cold is it there? As far as the kids clothes- my daughter gives her little girl's clothes to my other daughter and her son's clothes to a friend I believe. And I'm not that little! Any summer clothes I have would be a small but in adults! That is so nice of you to help Ellen send clothes. I hope you found some.
Betsy- that is great news - and mums the word here! That's exciting! Let us know when it happens!
Yea I agree- another lunch would be good!
Cori, thank you so much for your service and I hope that all is well with you.
Joanne, I have been thinking about you and wondering about Kevin. I bet you are so excited for the graduation. I didn't realize that you had a brother is Afghanistan. I will pray for him.
There isn't really anything new with me as far as my sailor goes. He is still deployed and we don't have a return date yet, but still expect that they will be home some time in April, as originally planned. They have decided to have a Tiger cruise, but only from HI to San Diego, and my husband and I have discussed the possibility of going on that. I have no idea where we will ever get the money for the airfare, but once we get details, we will make the decision about whether to do it or not. Of course, on their ship's deployment last year, there were over 2500 applications and they only had room for 1200 people, so we may not even get picked to go.
I do have some pretty exciting upcoming news concerning my daughter Kristen, who lives in CO. I would ask that you keep the news on here, so if you are on my FB page, please don't divulge anything on there. She and her bf Ben were here after Christmas and Ben sat down with my husband and me and asked for our permission to ask her to marry him. They have talked about getting married for about a year now, but he wanted he said that he wouldn't propose to her, until we said it was ok. :) He also wanted to wait to get engaged until after he was out of the Navy and settled in school. He only has about 3 semesters left to finish his degree in Chemical Engineering since he was able to complete a lot of college while he was in the Navy, so I guess they will probably plan a wedding after he graduates. My daughter also wants to pursue a Master's degree and is waiting to hear if she was accepted into Regis Univ. in CO for that program. She has no idea that he asked us that and since their 3 year anniversary is coming up in Feb., so I would assume he may propose then. I will let you all know when he pops the question.
Aren't we all ready for another lunch now? I know that I am.
