Betsy - Great picture. Glad to hear you made it safely to NM.

I'm with you Joanne & Lori - I hate to drive long distances!

Lori, we didn't have too much trouble the last time, (in May) But, we were in the middle of preparing for a college graduation party for my niece, which was held at our house, so we were all pretty busy that week.   He was very agitated and kinda moody in Feb. though, but I'm sure it was nerves because he was getting ready to go to his first duty station.  I have heard from other moms that being moody or unsettled is quite common for the sailors especially after they have been deployed or have been underway.

Poor Adam! Maybe he'll catch a little nap on the plane. Once he's sleep a bit he'll feel more like himself. One of the things I thought about- I know you saw him not that long ago right?- was how long did it take him to finally "relax"? When I saw Paul last Dec it seemed like it took quite a few days before he was more himself. Then he had to leave again. I just wondered if others have noticed this when they see their sons?

Big Navy mom hug to you!

JoAnne, glad to hear that Jason was able to get to the beach and relax for a little bit.

Lori, thanks, I pick up Adam from the airport today!  Yay!  But I have a feeling I will be picking up a grumpy sailor.  He was the DD for his shop friends last night and then had to leave at 4:00a.m. for the airport.  Yikes!

Betsy what a cool pic! Glad you made it there safely. Have fun with your family and friends - as I'm sure you will! Thanks for checking in with us and letting us know you made it there.

Joanne- I'm like you- no way would I drive that far- I AM a wimp! But we've talked about my driving issues before! I'm glad that Jason got some leave time for some R&R. He needed that.

Linda, I don't blame you, I would be there too.  It's a moment that you will always remember.  :)

Lori, lol I'm in NM now and no, I didn't go over 8 hours a day.  I had lunch with my daughter Michelle today and then went to my friend's house (where I'm staying).  We had a wonderful rainstorm, that was well needed in NM and saw a beautiful double rainbow.  Where I used to live, is the only place that I have ever seen the entire rainbow.

Betsy you've made good time. Not going over your 8 hour limit a day are you? I can imagine both of you are getting very excited! I know I would.

Linda- that's neat you're going to Joey's graduation. Paul's C school grad was in SD and he said it was just a regular day for him except he was handed a certificate!

Betsy - Glad to hear you will be in NM tomorrow - how exciting!

Joey is in Ballston Spa, NY and my husband & I are going to the graduaiton.  I don't care if it is only 20-30 min long.

Enjoy your visit with Adam! Safe travels tomorrow...

Linda, Are you going to go to his graduation?  Where is he now?

I'm as far as Texas tonight.  I will be in New Mexico tomorrow.  :)  I've talked with Adam a few times in the past couple of days.  I think he is getting excited to see us, lol.  He got my dad a hat from his ship and I know that my dad will love it.    Today he called me to tell me that MCPON and CNO were in Bremerton today and had a general meeting with the sailors.  I had to ask what they were, lol.  I was right in my guess though, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy and Chief Navy Officer.  Apparently they are a pretty big deal because Adam was pretty excited about it.
