Hi Maryland mom! well that must have been a shock! At least he's not too far away. Do you know her? What did her parents think of this quick marriage?
we are leaving tomorrow for San Diego to watch our son's ship return! I am so excited- never been to SD and I haven't seen my boy since Christmas with limited phone calls since he deployed. Very excited!
Hi All, Happy Monday !!
Got my surprise Mother's day gift from my sailor !! He came home last friday to tell us he had gotten married !! In MARCH !! Surprised, understatement !! Just started seeing this girl at Christmas, after a 9yr relationship fell apart. I hope this isnt just him on the rebound, since his ex got engaged in Feb and is planning an Aug wedding. Nothing I can do now, but support him and hope things go well for the 2 of them. He knew of her in high school, but never any real contact with each other. Now, we are loooking at moving his stuff and hers for them to Norfolk. Life is Grand !!
I second that Linda! Happy Mother's Day to a group of wonderful Navy mom's on here! I hope you have a wonderful day and hopefully a word from your sailor.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms!
Lori - Usually there is grad hold before starting the next school (there are 3 six months schools for the Nuke program). They needed 30 volunteers to start immediately after there 10 days off. He is definately doing what he wants - he is looking forward to getting on a sub!
Joanne, what does "Green" mean? Other than being all ecologically minded!
The title sounds interesting. Is Kevin going to collect human intelligence?!!! Ya know I'm messing with ya!
Is he happy with what he's been given?
Linda- that sounds great for Joey! When you say volunteer- does that mean he doesn't get paid or is it a part of the Nuke program that they needed those jobs filled for? Is this what he wants to do?
Joey's graduation will be 9 am on 5/25/12 since it gets so hot in Charleston. We are staying until Sunday and then he will drive home with his girlfriend. They needed 30 volunteers to start Prototype right after Power School (no grad hold) and he volunteered. Prototype starts on June 11 I think - he has to report on June 7. He is excited about going to Ballston Spa. I think they are going to rent a house that is currently being rented by some Nukes.
Power School is the second school in the nuclear training program. I now that he learned more about his specific job with is EM. That's about all I know!
Linda- Have fun in Charleston! So you will see Joey's graduation and then he'll get to come home with you? Where will he do his next bit of schooling?
Betsy - Welcome to Carroll County! Watch out for those deer at night as they love to run across the road when they see cars!
Joanne - Hope you're feeling better soon!
Lori - Australia sounds like a wonderful trip! It's a great feeling to be at the end of a semester - enjoy your break.
I am getting ready to go to Charleston - 20 days until we leave. Joey graduates Power School on May 25, & then will be home until June 6. He starts Prototype on June 11.
Joanne, the trips have come about because of the circumstances but what a blessing you were able to get away and see places you would not normally have done.
There's a lot of "chest stuff" going around. I hope you feel better soon.
That would be great news to have a buyer for the Dover house. I hope it happens!
I had my last day of the semester today. Turned in all my work. I don't need to take the final exam in Psychology as I have an A in that class. I got an A in my Writing class too! It's a weird feeling after so many weeks of researching, writing and studying to be DONE! Cleared my table off of all my notes and books. Now I'm looking forward to seeing Paul soon!
