Always wait for the best info from your sailor when he knows you will know.

There are other places to get stationed but not for the training right out of boot. First electronics school in Chicago then onto San Diego is the first stop. My son went from there to Bahrain for 7 months back in San Diego. Possible places are Japan, Bahrain or San Diego.

The website is VERY outdated. There isn't a training site in Texas anymore. He will go to San Diego. Great place to visit. My son has been in for three years and we wait for info from him. Don't put too much stock in what you read. Good luck and prayers for all military. Go Navy!!

Hello everyone. I'm a little confused from reading everything and just looking for clarification. My boyfriend's PIR is 05-02-14 and we were told he would be going to Texas straight from there and then that he would either be stationed in San Diego OR Norfolk. What is the true answer? He is MN. Thank you to everyone.

Did the Sentry Crew Bulwark moms see the photos on the MCM Crew Bulwark Facebook page? I was so excited to catch a few photos of my son! This is new as I don't think they had a Facebook page last deployment. Also just great to see the shipmates and observe some of their reality!

Our son is on his second deployment and loves his watch. In fact, he had it tuned up at a watchmaker's shop in Old Towne. San Diego so that he would have the same watch through both deployments. It is a black Timex with a dial, and he prefer the dial to the digital face. He used to wear a G-Shock, but I think he iks the simplicity and reliability if this Timex.

Trina-thank you, I'll definitely let him know that, I never even thought about that. When they do get deployed since they can't bring their cell phones, how do we communicate with them?

Comment by alice on January 11, 2014 at 12:46pm

Trina Do you know what cell phone coverage is best for san diego
