Congrats to Robin :). But I will be honest - I was hoping she would have been asigned to the USS Patriot. I would have sent word to Alex so he and the others would have greeted her properly. But the Navy has it's own thinking - all the best to her :) TLynn

Hi Everyone :)
Sharing something important. A fellow Navy mom sent me information about a Jury duty scam. This is for real. A person will call you saying an arrest warrent has been issued for your arrest. You missed jury duty, but if you give them your SS# and other personal infomration they will help you. Checked it out on www.snopes.com and the FBI website. Letting you know TLynn

Thank you Maureen. Rght now I look at the calendar and realize I still have over a year to hug him. That hurts some days. So hearing his voice is a comfort. ANd from his latest pictures - he grew! ANd here I thought my baby had stopped growing. Another thing to share - how confident he sounds and how proud he is . Maureen - you will have these moments too. To help me - I started a journal about Alex and have placed all the stories into this journal.
( Like his big tantrum on the ship and throwing his cell phone into the ocena) This is therapy for me and a keep sake for him. Just sharing with you - that's how I handle some of my bad :missing my sailor days". You have a good day. TLynn

Good day all :)
Had a wonderful talk with my son last night. For over two hours. He shared that finally - hours on the ship have slowed downa dn he was able to go on a day tour. He loved seeing the old castle and the home of an real Samurai Warrior. Built in the 1700. ANd he is hoping to get to go on a upcoming tour this coming Saturday. I have my fingers crossed that he can. Also, he took a test for promotion on Sept 10. He will know in December if he passes. If so he will be at teh rank of E5. And he shared that if things goe the way he likes in teh Navy he will re-enlist. I said Ok, but I sure hope he gets a leave. I have not seen him for over a year abd he stil has over a year to be on his ship. Going to go hug his panda bear. Have a good day talk later TLynn

Hurray Kim !!!!! What wonderful news. Just wish I had some answers to your past question. Still no wrods from my son. He did have that day off - I shared they were out of paint, so no one could do any work. So I am hoping that he is on a sight seeing tour and having fun. But I think the reason we have not heard from him- they got the paint and they are back on overtime and painting that ship. But Kim - you can always keep visitng the site and sharing with us :). Maureen, at least youwill have two weeks withhim - get all the hugs you can. I am approaching the one year mark - when I hugged my son last. Sept. 29th.2008. I still have over another year to wait for another hug. ( I go and hug his panda bear when I feel low). But your son might go to Bahrain. My son shared that he heard the MN there do not get out much with their ships. Itry and ask him some questions about Bahrain for you. Those MN are close team players. Well, need to go do some light crank duty and then have a Me /Day :). Wish for all to have a Me Day too. share later TLynn

Hi Kim,
Welcome aboard. My son is stationed in Sasebo too. But not the same ship. Just a question - has your son finishedhis A School training for MN? I remember my son having classes at GL and then ssent to Ingelside TX for A School. I don't remember A School being offered at GL. But it is in San Diego now. Please share if you know. But I will ask my son in an email if he knows any news about the Avenger. It might take a week before I hear from him though. All the MN ships are busy with preparing for inspection #4. That's all they did this summer - one inspectiona after another. Have a good day TLynn

I am so glad. Please share with Sean, that another Navy Mom is begging him to share this will his whole ship!
It can make all the difference in earning that chit card or any movement forward, if there is a mix up. Alex almost didn't get to come home for a weekend once. He was told he had lost his ID card and was in big trouble. When he took it out of his wallet and showed it - that's when the officers started checking. But too late for him to come home.I don't want this happen to any other sailors. Have a good day :) TLynn

Wonderful news!!!!
So happy that we all were tegether after his graduation. My Alex was suppose to have been able to to that too - except they messed on the paper work. I shared earlier about my son having a problem because of another sailro with the same last name - so ask you sailors to check theri orders to make sure the SS# are theirs !!! But so happy for you. You gave me a happy feelling all over :) TLynn
