Great advice! When Alex was going through all that at GL - he had no one to give him some pointers. And when he got behind - it was hard to get caught up. One thing I learn very fast is this: Navy Time = Maybe Time. Maybe this was going to happen - Myabe he could come home ,etc. And it is still that way. But one thing MN have better - team work. They are there for each other. Have a good evening all :) Oh - Janie - may the dreams you have had about your wedding day all come true. TLynn

Hi Everyone,
Welcome aboard Phyllis and Janie. GLida has done a wonderful job creating this site. From what my sailor - Alex shares - MN go ahead of the fleet and find those mines, so the bigger ships can sail through. But teh one thing Alex shares the most - the closeness in friendship with crew and officers. He oncs told another sailor from a bigger ship - " I know every face of the crew and we are there for each other. I know if I am in trouble - someone has my back." At first he didin;t know if he woul dlike being on a little ship - but he is very proud of being MN. And about being scared - that is what this site helps us with. Jamie - just get on this site and talk. That's the best I can offer. Have a pleasent evening. TLynn

Hi !
Thank you Glida. For the first time I can share a pciture of my sailor - Alex. It is the picture of the sailor leaning back in achair - holding his hat. Mn Moms - please meet my son - Alex :) 28 and single. Know nay nice girls? Two nights ago, we received a phone call from Alex. He shared how hard all are working to complete their tasks so the ship will pass inspcetion. Alex also, shared how the other MN ships are having problems. I asked if the Patriot's crew will talk to other MN ship crews. He said: " all the time. WE even try to help each other by sharing what methods works to fix something and even trade for parts." Glida is right - the MN are very tema minded, not only for their ship, but for other MN. Again, thank you Glida. TLynn PS the hand sign means
" I Love you" in sign launuage. My youngest niece is partially deaf and that was the first sign/message the entire family learned. Now she reads lips very well and no one signs.

HI :),
Thanks for the information Carol and Trina. I STILL have not heard any words from my sailor. But I did ask him in my last email about this question of phasing out. I will share - when he contacts me. So I am starting my usual sailor withdrawl. That means I go hug his old panda bear, but I know the rest of my family wants me to bake chocolate chip cookies. Sorry about the sailors on hold at GL and I do hope they receive their orders soon. Just send them some homemade cookies :) .That will at least make something better for them.. Crank Duty time - (dinner) talk later TLynn

Hi Ladies,
When I hear from my son, I'll ask him if he has heard any words that the MN are being phased out. October 3 will be one year on his ship. Stationed in Japan. My son mentioned that the fourth inspection was occuring -so after that is over - we should hear from him. But I can always bug him by email too. Let you know what I find out. TLynn

Hey where is everybody?
It's been hours and not one bit of gossip. WE have received plenty of rain here- the 19 Monarch caterpillars are eating very well. ANd I will have a chance to work on some of my crafts this weekend. With it raining - no outside work. What's new? Oh - I have been meaning to ask this questions - you Moms who have their sailors going to SD - have they communciated that they will get meet each other? I have been hoping to see a picture of several sailors at a lunch and holding up their Navy Moms pictures. The one lunch I have been able to attend - we moms were sharing pictures. I just thought that would be so special - our sailors gossipping about us. Wishing all a pleasent evening and a fun weekend. TLynn

Good Morning Ladies.
Feeling somewhat better. Just shakey now. That benedryal puts me out, AT this point , the doctors are not sure what I reacted too. I just did. The CT was checking out my spleem - it swelled up about 6 years ago and it was a re-exam. I only have a 1/4 tho of my thyroid left. It was treated at Mayo Clicin with radio active iodine to shrink it. - It worked! But I know by this weekend I will have flushed it ( whatever i reacted too) out of my system, but last night was a shocker to me. Have not had somethihng like this in years. I'm in Rockford, IL - 90 mins west of Chicago. I agree, getting a chance to meet would be fun. Ad do bring lots of tissue for the graduation. Hope the day they graduate is perfect weather. Glad you son laughed about the long johns, but those things are a must. I also appreciate teh information on how to send ookies - in a princle container. Will chat later in the day - everyone have a good one TLynn
