Good Morning !
It's a beautiful day here. Sunny - with some clouds but a wonderful cool breeze. I am so hoping that this stays for the fourth - it's suppose to rain tomorrow. If it does - we will just grill in the garage. Have to remind my husband to take the batteries out of the smoke detector. Heard from my sailor last night! He sounded strong, but tired. His ship is being inspected and all are on extra duty - trying to put their best foot forward. He did not mention any plans for the fourth - so I am thinking , if he has the day off, he will sleep. Hope all of you receive a message from your sailors. And that your fourth is fun and pleasent. Please say a prayer for those in combat. Let Freedom Ring.

Hi Trina,
No, I have not heard lately from my son. The last words, he was changing room and his new roommate had a huge plasma flat screen TV. And he didn't have to bring in his little 27 inch TV. You would think other things like - how is he doing - going on any sight seeing tours - possible taking any college classes - etc. The TV was the higlights. I'm good about sharing gossip - so as soon as I get some good stuff - I'll be sharing. Have a safe trip to Chicago and I hope you get to have some time with your daughter. And a chance to sight see. Keep us posted when your daughter gets her ship. By the way - WELCOME aboard MN Mom. ANd your daughter is the first female MN I know about. Way to go Girl! talk later - T-Lynn

Hi Glida,
When I read that your son was on the Patriot - my heart stopped. I was about to give up, that I must be the only MN Mom. Now here is some news: my son called me this morning - well, night for him. ( 13 hour difference) when the ship returned from spring tour - the dorm/barracks had some changes. Now Alex had room mates. He settled in and started catching up with emails and read my latest first. At one point he yelled out to one of his new roommates and asked the following: " Hey - what is your home state again? " New Room mate - "Florida" ALex - "And what is your first name?" New room mate: "Ricardo" Alex: "Come read this." New Room mate comes in and reads and replies: " Yah - that's me." Our sons are room mates! And Alex did state - he will help Ricky. They are about to do duty next morning - so they were all getting to bed early. And I did tell Alex to share with the other shipmates about the Navy for Moms. It appears to getting through the sailors that this site exist for us moms. So hopefully, we can be good back up for our sailors. Also, my son gave me permission to create a home page like yours. Alex is private and quiet. And a bit older than most of the ship's crew. ( 28) He is honest - fun loving - adventures - and is a loyal friend. And he spoke well of Ricky. Thank you Glida for creating this sight. I don't feel so alone. Well, I have to go do my crank duty now - means: kitchen duty/cleaning/laundry - you know house work!
talk soon T-Lynn PS Hi Maureen - didn't mean to forget you.

Good Morning,
My son is a MN on the USS Patriot. He has been in Sasebo, since October 3, 2008. When I first joined the Navy for Moms, I only stayed on one site - Japan Moms. I would always asks my son if he knew any other moms of his fellow shipmates - were on this site too. He told me me no, that he knew nothing about Navy for Moms. I look forward to speaking with ohter MN mothers. Have a good day T'Lynn
