My son is in school for MN. He just received his orders can anyone tell me where the USS Patriot is deployed? Is there a group for this ship?

My son is getting ready to leave San Diego soon for deployment, my daughter and I along with her Navy JROTC have decided to put together 100 care packages by March, Great right? Until we found out it is 16.95 each to send them unless it's an APO/ FPO address anybody have any suggestions that might help?

Do you know how long the A school is then?  My son was told, straight to A school for about 11 weeks.  I imagine that they will actually be 11 weeks AFTER the ATT school, though.  He is planning on taking going to college in the fall, and I'm just trying to figure out about when he will truly be done.  And how long is C school?  I feel so misinformed and out of the loop!  Is your daughter currently at boot camp?  My son is in an all male division and there are 3 other mineman in his division, which I was surprised about, since he told me that there are only 700 minemen in the whole Navy.

Thanks Trina!  I can't believe that the recruiter wouldn't have the correct information especially since it has been closed for a couple years!  Any idea when he will leave from GL for A school?  He was told that he would leave the Monday after PIR but that was from the recruiter who told him his A school would be in Texas!

where is MN A school?  My son was told by his recruiter that it is in Texas, but from what I've read, that location is no longer open.  He has been at Boot Camp for 1 week.  Missing him like crazy!

I found out that CREW Bulwark has a monthly newsletter. I haven't received it yet, but I should be on the distribution list soon. I contacted the CREW's ombudsman who I turn reached out to the ship to get confirmation from our son to okay including us. I am very excited about receiving this as there is no FB page for them. I am very anxious to understand more!

Hello! Was just led to this group after inquiring if anyone had sailors on the Devastator crew? My son deployed to there in July, I sure could use some contact with others as he doesn't call Mom and Dad often. I check in here for updates and hope this group can help. Thanks!
