For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What are Packing Parties?
Ask if one is planned in your area, or hold your own with friends and family! By carefully following a few simple rules and completing our forms, your group's shipping costs to that month's Adoptees will be paid by MAS (must be a group; individuals don't qualify). To request information, send email to webmaster@mollysadoptasailor.com. MAS can also provide you a letter with Federal Tax ID for requesting donations. There is some info. just to the right of this text-underneath the members photo's.. "Packing Party Information" ..Check it out.
What is the most critical or best thing you can send? Your SUPPORT!
What counts here is the morale of our military and how we can boost it with a touch of love from home. We have a great time here each month sharing, chatting, planning, packing and mailing our appreciation to our deployed.
Will you get a 'thank you' from the deployed military who receive your package?
We hope you do but can't guarantee it as they are engaged in their vital work and often in harm's way. Include your email address in your note (best bet) or add a self addressed envelope (no need for a stamp on it) and paper and pen, and ask if a note is possible in your letter. Replies and photos from our adoptee Point of Contact (POC) will be posted here and on our MAS Facebook page as they come in.
BOXES: Get APO/FPO large priority-mail boxes at your post office, OR call the USPS - 800-610-8734, say "Order supplies" and then ask for the Military Pack. They'll send you six priority-mail large boxes for military, tape, and labels, all for free. You can order cases of 10 and 25 online sent for free, too; choose size under "select format" at right on that page. Send up to 70 lbs per box (that's 7.7 bricks!) at a discount of $2 below the regular rate.
Click here for your MAS (Molly's Adopt a Sailor) stickers. Please print and add these stickers to your boxes - we get new adoption requests when these are seen on dozens of boxes in the mail!

I have a suggestion for our next group: sailors on the ground in Afghanistan. It's very cold there now and we could send hats, gloves, hand warmers, etc.

Hey Angie - I will try to locate info on our October group today for you. Yesterday was in meetings, all day long...sometimes the job just gets in the way!!! LOL
Welcome Cathilee! Glad that you have joined us, we just wrapped up a massive but wonderful project for December - adopted a WHOLE ship of SAILORS!!! January group will be posted soon - there are always Sailors that need an extra dose of Navy mom love and support!

Hi all, I hope each of your sailors will be home with you for the holidays but we know many Sailors that won't be.
Not sure if you have heard about the "Blue Candle Lighting" so I posted a thread above for you to check it out - what a wonderful way to honor our sailors that cannot be home on Christmas Day.

Hi all - sorry I've been covered up the last few days.
We adopt a new group each month - which have included Sailors in Kuwait, Afganistan and Iraq. The USS Rodney M. Davis was a two month program (Nov. and Dec.) due to the size of the group - it was clearly the largest undertaking we have done to date and look what YOU did for them!!!
Angie, is there a particular group that you would like to reach out to from our past adoptions? I would be happy to see if they are still in the sandbox, when adopting a group we look at a number of things including ...how long have they been away from home. At this point, your greeting might not make it in time for the holidays but a message of support or cheer is always welcome.
Trying to cover as many Sailors as we can, we tend to adopt a group for a month and then move to a different area but some members continue to write the adoptees.
I suspect that we will have our January Sailors announced between Christmas and New Years - certainly before January 1st.

We have been so excited and so wrapped up over our Nov-Dec adopt a ship. Believe it or not, I am looking forward to our next assignment. Especially since there should be some great after Christmas sales. Do we have a new group picked out yet?
