Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What are Packing Parties?
Ask if one is planned in your area, or hold your own with friends and family! By carefully following a few simple rules and completing our forms, your group's shipping costs to that month's Adoptees will be paid by MAS (must be a group; individuals don't qualify). To request information, send email to webmaster@mollysadoptasailor.com. MAS can also provide you a letter with Federal Tax ID for requesting donations. There is some info. just to the right of this text-underneath the members photo's.. "Packing Party Information" ..Check it out.
What is the most critical or best thing you can send? Your SUPPORT!
What counts here is the morale of our military and how we can boost it with a touch of love from home. We have a great time here each month sharing, chatting, planning, packing and mailing our appreciation to our deployed.
Will you get a 'thank you' from the deployed military who receive your package?
We hope you do but can't guarantee it as they are engaged in their vital work and often in harm's way. Include your email address in your note (best bet) or add a self addressed envelope (no need for a stamp on it) and paper and pen, and ask if a note is possible in your letter. Replies and photos from our adoptee Point of Contact (POC) will be posted here and on our MAS Facebook page as they come in.
BOXES: Get APO/FPO large priority-mail boxes at your post office, OR call the USPS - 800-610-8734, say "Order supplies" and then ask for the Military Pack. They'll send you six priority-mail large boxes for military, tape, and labels, all for free. You can order cases of 10 and 25 online sent for free, too; choose size under "select format" at right on that page. Send up to 70 lbs per box (that's 7.7 bricks!) at a discount of $2 below the regular rate.
Click here for your MAS (Molly's Adopt a Sailor) stickers. Please print and add these stickers to your boxes - we get new adoption requests when these are seen on dozens of boxes in the mail!

Ah, Pat - that is awesome! I will be forever grateful to YOU and to Villa Park as they are the awesome folks, along with you who adopted my boy and some of his sailors at Thanksgiving time when he was in bootcamp! He still talks about how thankful he was for having the opportunity to not only get away from the chaos of bootcamp, but to be able to be with such gracious folks! It was his first Thanksgiving away from home - ever! Trust me, it made this mama very proud and something I will be eternally grateful for!

This morning several "Molly Moms" went to brunch at the Villa Park Post 2801. We went there to support them for all the wonderful things they do for MAS. What I left with (besides a full tummy) is my car packed with donations for our troops. April is going to be a big group so this happened at exactly the perfect time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you Villa Park VFW Post 2801. YOU ROCK!!!!!

Whit's Mom, I've sent blank cards so that they can send cards to their loved ones. Children's birthday cards, thinking of you cards and Mother's/Father's Day cards. They like to send mail but don't always have time to write a long letter so cards work great!

Oh, a way to get a wide variety is to ask your friends, family, church, clubs to give you the few cards they have left-over from their Christmas mailing. Everyone loved getting rid of their collection of left-overs and our troops got some really nice cards.
Comment: Please do NOT think I'm crazy talking C'mas cards in March!! This never-ending winter is getting on my very short nerve!!!!

Congratulations on a great find Whit's Mom!! I would do what Carol said too. I like to include anniversary, spouse & kids' b'day cards and of course all the holidays. Last year I sent tons (it seemed) of Christmas cards to our October adoptees and to SH. They got them in Nov. which gave them plenty of time to pick up some to send home. They loved it.

Okay ladies! I am sending out a couple of boxes to a family friend who is stationed in Afghanistan. I only have a 5 digit zip code. Didn't we have problems with shipments not having a 9 digit zip on it?
