Supporting our military by way of cards, letters and care packages filled with love & support from HOME

This group is the perfect place to learn all the tips and tricks of packing and mailing care packages and most important, to make a difference for those serving.  PLEASE do introduce yourself in the Comments below!!

Click "NEW MOMS READ FIRST!" here or at right under Pages.  Everything you need to know!  Email newmoms@mollysadoptasailor.com with any questions.

Where is the monthly Adoptee Mailing Address?

To access the adoptees' mailing addresses, you first need to join this private group:  MAS We SHIP Love. Once approved, you can always click here for this month's ADOPTEE MAILING ADDRESS (We Ship Love)

Where is the information about this month's adopted unit or ship?

We provide information about each month's Adoptees and their Wish List in the Discussion Forum below.  For the mailing address, see link above:  Adoptee Mailing Address.

What are Packing Parties?

Ask if one is planned in your area, or hold your own with friends and family!  By carefully following a few simple rules and completing our forms, your group's shipping costs to that month's Adoptees will be paid by MAS (must be a group; individuals don't qualify).  To request information, send email to webmaster@mollysadoptasailor.com.  MAS can also provide you a letter with Federal Tax ID for requesting donations. There is some info. just to the right of this text-underneath the members photo's.. "Packing Party Information" ..Check it out.

What is the most critical or best thing you can send?  Your SUPPORT!

What counts here is the morale of our military and how we can boost it with a touch of love from home.  We have a great time here each month sharing, chatting, planning, packing and mailing our appreciation to our deployed.

Will you get a 'thank you' from the deployed military who receive your package?

We hope you do but can't guarantee it as they are engaged in their vital work and often in harm's way.  Include your email address in your note (best bet) or add a self addressed envelope (no need for a stamp on it) and paper and pen, and ask if a note is possible in your letter.  Replies and photos from our adoptee Point of Contact (POC) will be posted here and on our MAS Facebook page as they come in.

BOXES: Get APO/FPO large priority-mail boxes at your post office, OR call the USPS - 800-610-8734, say "Order supplies" and then ask for the Military Pack.  They'll send you six priority-mail large boxes for military, tape, and labels, all for free.  You can order cases of 10 and 25 online sent for free, too; choose size under "select format" at right on that page.  Send up to 70 lbs per box (that's 7.7 bricks!) at a discount of $2 below the regular rate.

Click here for your MAS (Molly's Adopt a Sailor) stickers.  Please print and add these stickers to your boxes - we get new adoption requests when these are seen on dozens of boxes in the mail!

Questions?  Please contact "PAT L in IL" at newmoms@mollysadoptasailor.com.  Pat is a wonderful source of information.  She can explain to you how MAS works and get you started.  We have a TON of fun here in our group every month, so jump in and get ready to rock with MAS!!

Hello Friends, Veterans, and Troops,

It is with great regret and sadness that I inform you that the hard decision has been made to close Molly’s Adopt a Sailor (MAS) after 12 years of service to our active and veteran troops. Though this seems like a sad moment it is also a moment to reflect on all the good that has been done for over a decade.

With the Corona virus, issue at the post office, cost of shipping, lack of adoptions and lives evolving with age and moving now is the time.

Please as of  today please do not donate to MAS, please stop your amazon smiles, Igives, Facebook donations, United Way or any other way you are donating. (I also know this could take a few days, nothing happens overnight) We will remain a 501c3 until 2021 because nothing happens overnight (LOL)  We love you, and cannot thank you enough for always helping. This entire MAS would not have happened if not for you.

Hi. Haven’t heard much from y’all lately. Is everyone hanging out elsewhere?

Comment by carols_kitchen on June 24, 2020 at 12:02pm

I’m about 30 minutes away from him. I’d have him meet us for a meal, but the area is rising with c-19 Numbers. Not y about the convention moving to Jax.

 Good Morning carols_kitchen,

Thank you for adding me to this group. That's awesome. My dream was of snakes chasing me. Lol I would have preferred your dream.  :)

My Sailor is an HM and he has been in for almost three years. He is stationed out in Jax, Florida.  He will be moving later but due to COVID can't see him now so that is a bummer.

I am a Navy brat so it has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions.  :) So proud of everything he has accomplished so far but miss him so.  :)

Our sailor has gone from riding submarines, to building them. After twelve years, he joined Electric Boat/ General Dynamics. He’s loving being around some of the same brothers (neither of his subs had women aboard) but also being able to be on land.

I still help with our adoptions, still follow OPSEC, and still help run our Molly’s Facebook page. Here he is working from home on time off

Welcome partyofseven! I could have used your help in my dream last night. Molly’s Adopt a Sailor had a huge picnic for two ships of sailors in that dream!

tell us about your Sailor’s journey so far, and how you found our group.

Hi Nana 51. Your Sailor can go to mollysadoptasailor.com and follow the form for adoption. Let him know that we prefer to take groups vs whole ships, especiallysince we will be starting back from scratch, so to say, soon. We have taken two months off due to C-19

in the meantime, if you have a group of maybe 4, and a place to meet, you can start your own adoption process, following Covid-19 rules. We want everyone to remain healthy and safe.

Continue your questions! Please!

Carol

My grandson's ship will be going on deployment soon. How do we get his ship adopted while gone?  What forms need to be filled out ahead of time?

Thanks Martha

Hi Carol! Well It is Me Becky C and I am Back!  - My son is now a Commander - I started out with Molly's back when it was first birthed!  My emails go screwed up and our family went thru some things, lost our home to fire in 2013, shortly after my mom pass from pancreatic cancer and my membership here on Navy4Moms was removed, and or archived - so it took some time to be back in again, so I guess I am just right now exploring - old stomping grounds!  Son and family is due to post to from NavySupplyHeadQuarters to Germany here soon, but with the virus and his schooling thankfully it has been delayed, for a while anyway!  We are all so excited for their new Post to Gemrany!  He now has 3 kids and a wonderful wife, all this has happened since I was last in here in Navy4Moms -
My dad is ill so have been doing palliative care and I come and go to my home, where my main computer is, and back to his farm to do care, so coming and checking in is a bit few and far between!
