Happy New Year!

Good Morning,  Mommabee2 welcome to the group.

Shelia congratulations. What a handsome couple they make.  I didn't see the wedding pictures either, are they in the slide show?

Michael received his orders for North Island, San Diego, he has to be there by February 7(he's in Pensacola now).  He's happy to keep his truck with him and visit San Diego. He would like to try for corpsman when he gets E3 in a couple of months. Not sure if they will have an opening but he wants to try.  Overall he's doing well and we had a great Christmas together. He plans to take a week off to come home before driving to San Diego.

Shelia I also looked, I guess they are not approved yet. The one here is just a wonderful picture. Both bride and groom look very happy. Can't wait to see the rest. Thanks for sharing in the happiness.

my son just joined the navy today--is in the PACT school??? This is all new to me.  He's excited, but I'm not sure this is a good thing.

 Hello All...

msvines: He requested a choice of location but he has no idea yet where he will be going. I am so proud of him, I'm sure like every other mother/wife on this site when we realize how resilient our young men and women have become. He's only 19 years old but he has matured so much.

Julie....Yes, Michael is home and loving every minute of it. He is doing well and is keeping a positive outlook. These last 7 months have made him realize just how strong he really is. He's feeling better getting over the crud, sleeping and eating a lot!

Arwen... LOL... I might get a one word text from Mike when he's away- if I'm lucky. We watch  " Carrier" when it came out -Mike was at bookcamp-great show.

I want to wish all a Very Merry Christmas!

Undes airman goes to a short training school, then they get leave to go home for a while. Most do not get to choose orders, the vast majority are sent to aircraft carriers to work as flight deck crew (the stuff the young guys are doing on the TV show "Carrier.").
