Hey Valerie I sent a friend request to you. As soon as you accept it maybe would set up a time and place to meet. How long has your sailor in Virginia been in the Navy? Mine a year this month. Seems long ago but yet seems like yesterday too.

Smuggled...be prepared to sometimes go a while with no contact.mine is currently on deployment and in the Persian gulf.they love to get care packages so make sure you go to the post office and get the flat rate boxes.they cost 12.95 .to ship and can have no weight limit.make sure you have the ship address for your child or they won't get it.Valerie since we both live in t-ville maybe we could do lunch sometime.it would be great to talk to someone that can relate to me. Shaman to get married their chief has to give permission along with the higher UPS.

Good morning ladies, new here so I have a question. My daughter is on the Carl Vinson and is gearing up for her first deployment in November. Is there anyone out there who can give me a little insight as to what she will be experiencing? She'll be gone till May and her mos is AM. Not qualed yet to be on flight deck so she is in the shop. I know she is in good hands and I try not to worry but, you know how it is with them so far away it's hard not too. I appreciate any advise or comments you can give me. Thank you, Skittles Mom (Linda)

Well if you guys do keep me in mind. I'm off Sun-Tues and off in evenings. He is deck crew on a carrier. Going for Boatswain's Mate or Machinists mate. Should get his results in December from his ratings test. How long has your son been in and where is he stationed? They are supposed to be on liberty right now but there is a civil war going on so they have limited access to the base. He has been to Kuala Lumpur and was supposed to port at Manila but a typhoon had different plans for them. This is his first deployment.

We keep trying to have a lunch hookup, but so far, no body has been able to agree on a time and place.  My son is a Seabee.  He's been to D'jibouti,  Cambodia, and Guam.  Sandbox duty is coming up soon.

I live in Taylorsville but work in Sandy. My son is stationed in Bremerton but is on deployment right now. Since it is posted on the Careline I can say he is in Bahrain right now which if you don't already know is off the coast of Saudi Arabia. He has been in almost a year so I am a pretty new Navy mom. He is 19 years old. I'm just trying to meet moms that share a common bond and since we aren't on either coast it's hard to find Navy families here.

Would love to know about local lunches or get togethers if there are any. I am a member of the John C Stennis support group but obviously that is full of folks all over the US.
