VICTORY!! Well husband met with plant manager, quality manager and several R & D people. Quality manager took husband side. Made plant manager see the light. Husband is not only holding his head high, I think he has a little bounce to his step.

Thanks for being my friends and being there for me when I needed to talk.

Its been a long week and looking forward to a good nights sleep. See you all here tomorrow.

Ok I have appreciated everyones patience. Things have been a real roller coaster with my life and sometimes I haven't known which way is up or down.
My daughter graduated from C school as an IS specialist last friday. It was a quick trip across country and back for me as I had an event I had to attend on Saturday. My Hubby and daughter were driving back in her car to get home. On the way back they stopped in AZ to visit family and my FIL's wife died their second day there. Services are on Friday and things are so hectic because we have 50 plus guests at an engagement party for our oldest on saturday. Torn between responsibilities to family and at home. And just finishing up our last week of summerschool too. Wishing for the cloning ability right about now.
Don't give up hope Gloria, I will come through with my portion of your son's quilt. I will be off for the next 5 weeks and that is a priority.

Remeber Eagle mom you asked.

Trying to stay focused today. Husband of 34 years is having a tough time at work. He is the Quality Eng for his firm of about 5000 employees (he has been there 28 years). His department head wants him to lessen his morale and ethics and pass certain plans without reviewing them and having the proper sign off's. He works for a mjaor defense contractor that supplies many of the rockets that the Navy uses.

I know alot of you do not have soul-mates as partners, but I do. I know he may come home tonight unemployed, but I am very proud of him (just as I am of our children) for standing up for what is right and not backing down.

It was a long evening last night. We just sat and talked about what he was going through. If you new my husband you would understand that him wanting to sit and talk is HUGE. He is a very quiet man, I don't mean to say we don't talk, because we do, its just that he doesn't usually talk about work.

He meets with the department head and plant manager this afternoon, so I feel like I am holding my breath until then.

Thanks, I feel you are the only ones I can tell this to.....Love ya.

Started a new quilt for my new grandson, he is due in October.

Years ago when Navy son was small my mother made his a bed cover for his twin bed. It was fabric with panels of the Apollo rocket and all the space vehicles. My mother was a computer programer for Aerojot (defense contractor) and she programed all the Mercury and Apollo rockets, along with the first 2 space shuttles. So there panels meant something to her. When she passed away 20 years ago I found 6 of these panels in her stash. So I saved them.

I came across these panels when I was moving back into my remodel sewing rooms last year. So when our son and DIL annouced they were have a boy I new what I was going to use for this baby's quilt.

It has been a challenge so far. Since the fabric is old it is way, way out of square. So I have washed and cut the fabric into squares and tried to block them the best I can. I am just adding 1 inch strips to the panels so I can get it to a equal square. That's as far as I have gotten this weekend.

After I get that done then I will figure out the measurements for the pinwheels I want to make as the board.

Eagel mom that's as much good news as I got right now.

I know this low spot your in right now will pass, but I am glad you are sharing with us and letting us be your bright spot!

Eaglemom and my other quilt friends, no I have not disapeared (sp). Sorry my head isn't working today, I have a serious head cold. Comes from working with special needs kids.
Anyway, I haven't forgotten about the extra blocks I am doing. Things have been crazy at home. My younger sailor grads C school next Friday and I am working hard to finish her travel quilt, my older daughter became engaged and our son is preparing to leave for BC in Sept. At least I will only have two more weeks of summer school before I am on break for 5 weeks. Then I will work diligently on completeing the remaining blocks.
I am really looking forward to a quilt show I will be attending in Long Beach, I signed up for an all day class with Debbie Caffery. So excited about her new mystery quilt pattern.

I want to start a quilt for me new grandson who is due in Oct.

I have several panels that my mother had purchased and made into a bedcover for my son. When she passed away I found the leftover panels and saved them.

These panels are large and are pictures of the Apollo and other space vehicles. Its in primary colors: red, white and blue.

I need to cut the panels and them marry them together. I was playing with the panels and think it would be fun to do like a crazy boarder. Basically just looking like material was just thrown down and sewed together.

Anyone ever try doing this? Have any suggestion?
