Matt and I dated 2 years to the day (well - 1 day) to the 2 year anniversary we got married. We have been married almost 5 years now. He left a couple months after our 4 year wedding anniversary for boot camp! He had wanted to go into Navy since he was 17 and finally at 26 got his chance. (his mom had said no at 17 so he didn't try for it till we were on our own finally.) He finally cut the apron strings. My dad worked him out A LOT to get him into shape. (Guess it helped that my dad was at one point an Army drill Sargent.) He ran every morning with him pretty much told him when to eat ect.. My husband was basically in boot camp LONG before he went into Naval boot camp! He said Navy boot camp was easier on him then my dad! lol. He lost almost a full 70 pounds to get in =) So proud of him! We finally go to our first base soon! ( He leaves Tuesday and after he picks our home we leave to go be with him!!)
We had dated for 2 months and then got pregnant.. half way through the pregnancy my hubby popped the question! after baby he had wanted to get married but I was just unsure about it.. we ended up moving got pregnant again, and then decided what the heck! lets get married.. so we got married 1 year and 2 months after he proposed. We have now currently been married almost two years ( anniversary is in dec.) and together for almost 4. We had gotten married the day before we started our official navy journey. :)
My husband and i dated 4 yrs before getting married!! We are high school sweethearts he is a year and 8 months younger than me :) lol!! We were off and on the first 2 yrs then finally said we couldnt be with out one another so we have been together soild the last 2 years!! we had talked about getting married all the time and how we wanted to have a family together and grow old with one another!! Last Janurary we found out i was pregnant we didnt wont to get married right away because we didnt wont people thinking that was the only reason we was getting married. So i had our baby girl on Monday Aug 20th came home from the hospital on Wed the 22nd he proposed that night at dinner and we got married in our preachers office on that Sat the 25th!!! We wanted to go ahead and be married before he left for boot camp so me and our lil girl would be covered finically and with insurance!! So we have been married for 4 months on Christmas :)!!! He is absolutely the love of my life , my better half , my soul mate and now our lil family is complete!!!!!
New member here! We dated for little less than a year before marrying and our 11th wedding anniversary is coming up next month. We were both enlisted when we met and although I am now out, he's been doing this for almost 13 years. We are both very much hoping he makes Chief this time up! I won't say it's been easy but if anyone ever has any questions, we've definitely been through many many situations over the years.
I met my husband through church. we had known each other but aid no attention to one another. then one day we became the best of friends. a few months later we decided to date on 11/11/10 that valentines day he purposed to me. we got married 11/11/11 ...we put a rush on it because he joined the navy but I wouldn't' change it for the world. we have been happily married ever since. :) people thought we were crazy to have not been together for a long time before getting married, but when you know, you know :)
we dated for 2 years, and have been married 6. We married when we were 19 after we found out we were pregnant( we were each others "first" and only) after the 2 years of dating. Now we are 25 with a 5 yr old and a 1 yr old and we really miss him ad bt right now
My husband and I have been together almost 10 years. We moved in together after 6 months and dated for about 3 1/2 years before getting married and have now been married for about 7 years. We just started this Navy adventure and it has been hard. I can only imagine being a new couple and thrown into this. I have enough insecurities as it is and if we hadn't had the time to build our relationship first I don't know how I would have handled these trying times. I really have a lot of respect for those couples starting out together in the midst of all this. You must be very strong :-) We don't have kids yet or any of that. I think we are both late bloomers and a little slow with making decisions. I really miss him. It's only been 4 months and I am still an emotional wreck. This is only A school too. I can’t even think about deployment yet. God, I love him so much. Stay strong ladies, you are all my inspiration.
My story is a crazy one.
Me and my husband met when I was sixteen on a video game . We got together after his girlfriend of four years left him (She was pretty much the definition of crazy). We dated for two weeks long distance but it all turned out he used me to get his ex jealous and it worked. We dropped contact till I was eighteen. I can not put into words how much I honestly despised him for playing with my feelings and emotions because I had just gotten out of a serious relationship as well. One day, I am living in a hotel.. My last shelter before it was out on the streets for me. My mother moved to Hawaii to better her life and my dad just left me in Georgia because he wanted to start a new life in Florida. Him telling me I couldn't go with him was the hardest and most devastating thing I had ever heard because now I realize I am essentially homeless. Staying in this hotel, my phone rings.. Its a strange number I don't recognize. I answer and its someone who I don't remember..At All. After he explains who he is I told him to loose my number and right before I hung up he apologized for all the crap and wanted to start over. So.. The forgiving person I am.. I took it slowly and said sure. We talked for a few weeks and then he offered a home for me in Texas with him and his parents on a military base. Military was far from my lifestyle at the time but I had no other option so I accepted. I remained with my grandparents until I left and in that duration we decided to make a relationship out of it. I was so scared.. I was moving in with a man I had never met and would be dating him at the same time with no where left to go back to if things went bad. Turns out things went so good we stayed together, got married and even had a child together. We have been together since 2010 and married since 2011. Honestly, I can say, I have never been happier with my decisions in my life because they all led me up to him.
My husband and I became friends the summer after sophomore year of high school at a rodeo instructional-bible camp i was 16 he was 15 we became great friends over the next year even though we went to rival high schools (it became a fun banter between us). A year later i became a counselor while he was still a camper (whoopsie LOL). I ended up being his baby sisters counselor ( it was her first year) He stopped by frequently "checking" on his sister but seemed more focused on what i was doing and asked if he could help. A few weeks later when he turned 17 he asked me on our first date. A year and a half later he left for basic and i was wrapping up my first year of college, about 4 months later after he left we decided to become engaged. And after 5 months we're getting married in two weeks! :) We've known each other now for almost 4 years, we dated for almost 3 and now I'm about to marry my best friend. :)
My husband and I met our freshmen year of high school. We started dating the beginning of our sophomore year when we were both 15. Our daughter was born over Christmas break of our senior year lol. We dated a total of 3 years before we got married, the summer after graduating high school. We've now been married 2 years. He's in basic right now, PIR 10/4.
