What a wealth of information you all are! I have a few questions that I am sure you all can answer...

1) MM A school is 14 weeks, power school is 6 months, then prototype is 6 months...is that correct?

2) It seems as though most of your nukes have been in prototype for almost a year or even more...is this the normal time frame? For both GC and BS?

3) As for graduations...are A school and power school graduations close to the 14 weeks or 6 months completion date of each school? Example: if A school started this week would graduation be in exactly 14 weeks from now or is there a hold time?

4) Lastly, is there usually leave time between each school?

My son's Power School class was 1403, and his Prototype class is 1404, so it's not always the same.

CO-Twin, I suppose that, in a sense, that's sort of how it works :)
The first two digits are the fiscal year the class started; the second two digits are just the order of classes.  My class number of 8302 means that I was in the second class to begin Power School in fiscal year 1983.  Congrats on selling the old homestead, BTW.

So I got some info and it appears that being able to open a bakery on base is a possibility, Got a list from the nEX of what info they need. Maybe I will end up with a franchise. Anyone want in?

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on January 7, 2015 at 7:14pm

So Mark obviously they start the count over occasionally. Do they go to 9999 then start over?

Hard to beleave My son is working on coming out the other end of the pipeline. WOW. He can be proud. He is so easy going he hardly ever complain.

Comment by Mark on January 7, 2015 at 6:44pm

MichianaMom - yes, the class number from Power School stays with them for prototype, and in a sense - the rest of their lives, whenever we meet another former Navy Nuc, we usually compare class numbers to establish a context.  My own was class 8302, way back in the day.

Just want to add my congratulations to all of the Sailors graduating prototype and moving on to the fleet.  It is nice to see some familiar names being able to celebrate that accomplishment with their Sailors.  You give the rest of us hope! (When you mention their class number are you talking Power School class? Do they keep the same class number in Prototype?)

1 proudmama,,,That is aabout when I was thinking. He is an EM. I know he said he has had some pretty intense hours.

Maybe he will graduate on his b day? that would be fun. His twin will out to Sea,Sea, Sea...

Comment by 1proudmama/EM/USSLincoln/CVN72 on January 7, 2015 at 2:19pm

Co-twin... if I remember right your son is at the marf plant so I think different graduation. My son's roommate is at that plant and started after him but in all likely hood will graduate before my son do to maintenance problems at S8G. But pay attention to when 1402 graduates and should be 2 months after that. if he is at S8G my son says for now they are saying May, and this is all rumors and best guesses.hope this helps give you  a ball park figure.

B'sNuke you are such a ray of sunshine! I borrowed my profile pic from you and your cute little postings.

Cool about your Fireman son, Rhonda! You seem to have raised 2 heroes!

Glad you are sticking around, B'sNuke. What would we do without you? My son reported to his base today. I need N4Ms more than ever!
