My son was home for Christmas two years ago only because he had already graduated prototype in November and then came home on leave.  Last Christmas he did not come home because he had duty on the submarine.

I think it depends on their watch schedule at prototype. When my son was there he couldn't come home. I think they gave him a few days together over the holidays but not enough time to fly across the country to home. We watched him open his Christmas presents on Skype and I remember he was wearing his NWU!

It is my understanding from listings on here last year, When in Prototype they can not come home for Christmas right?

I use the flavored balsamic, like pear or citrus. I got one that was pricklypear and it was really good.

MSG quite often is listed as flavoring. sneaky.

Razorbackfan - I "bumped" the discussion above - "Do Sailors in Nuke School get leave?"  Read through the comments there as it gives a little insight into leave/holidays.  Hope it helps!

Can any of you give me an idea of what the holidays are like in regards to Nuke school?  Do they get leave?  Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Happy Wednesday!

Co-Twin - aw - what a cute picture of your sailor!

All this healthy talk - Christy - that is fantastic about your MIL - tell her great job!   If only it were this easy....

Co-TSM, Cheers to your boys.  I also have fallen in love with the spinach salad with nuts and strawberries.  They go together so well.  My husband says to not forget the craisins tho as they really add to the salad.  I still use dressing, but the balsamic sounds like I better try it!  My oldest daughter is Gluten-intolerant so have been reading labels for the last three years really close, you would be suprised where you can find msg.

My son is glad to be done with E-funds as it was a struggle for him.  Now he is in digital and it is more to his liking so his grades are going up.  That is always a plus.

Kedj Happy birthday to your son also. Hope to meet you on August first. I rented a cottage in N. Charleston for the week from last of July to Aug. 3rd. My son wants to play tour guide and show Mom where he has been living.

I understand how difficult it is when there are others at home that eat in a not so healthy manor. I had a really hard time as my house was the teen hangout house. I was feeding and baking for 4-8 kids all the time. When my nuke left for BC suddenly I was alone and it was a big adjustment. I get up do the Classical Stretching then walk for at least a mile then try to walk again later for another walk. I do not deny myself treats. once or twice a week I have either popcorn with a movie or a small dessert like 1/4 cup of ice-cream or a tiny piece of pie or cake or one cookie. No more than that though and always before 7pm.
