I know we have moved away from the conversation on football teams, but I finally was able to find this picture of hubby and sailor.  It was taken in December (at Bootcamp PIR in Chicago!).  Go Packers!

Sandra- my son graduated PS at end of June. We arrived there around 8am and were able to get good seats. The great part of it was that the Rear Admiral that spoke there let the parents actually come up on the stage at the corner there and they actually posed for the pictures. It was great! He said as your sailor comes up scream really loud and we will turn that way so you can get great pics! There were about 340+ graduating and they did by rate and height. It was not alphabetical. Officers were first, then I believe EM's, ET's and MM's. It will be hot so bring sunscreen, water and maybe a hat. It lasted about 2 hours, but it was wonderful. They did have 2 or 3 sailors pass out during it, I felt so bad for them because it gets really hot in that morning SC sun! Enjoy!

Betsyleebig... Utah is a good place to find yourself. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

Betsyleebig - so sorry that your son was separated from the Navy; I know it wasn't for lack of trying on his part.  The habits he learned in the last 2 years will carry him through his life.  My DIL had lots of instructor trouble in A school, so much so that she requested a discharge.  However, she says the Navy was great to her because she met my son and now they are married and have a beautiful son!  I joke with her that joining the Navy was God's way of sending my son the perfect mate!  Wish your son luck in all his endeavors.

Question - My son will be graduating Power School this Friday (Yay!). I was wondering how early we should arrive to get a good seat for that perfect picture moment. Also, do they go by groups (MM, EM, ET) or alphabetical? I know that Power School graduation is THE one to go to, but what is the average crowd size? I know is smaller than BC and bigger than A school.

hello all!!

betsy--good luck to your son!!  I don't know your son, but I am proud of him! I am very sure he did his best for them!   as others have said, him having the courage to know it is time to move on is commendable!  my son is also having trouble in prototype.  we have told him from the beginning that we are proud of him no matter what happens.  he does his best and that is all we can expect!

PattiP  I think my son is expecting to go to Ballston Spa so that is good if they don't mess with that ratio before then.

He did text this morning that he ran his 1.5mile in 9.12!! he is 6'4" all legs.

We have a family friend that is one of the higher ups in Prototype down in GC We are going down there this Labor Day and I'm going to share my concerns about class size and instructor ratio that I keep hearing about. I know budget cuts I'm sure are affecting this and don't know if anything will happen, but worth a try. I won't mention any names and won't mention our friends name out of respect for both sides. Hopefully it won't fall on deaf ears; hes a pretty good guy.

Betsyleebig, just sending good thoughts to your son and family.  My Dad used to say that it was as important to know what you didn't want to do as it was to know what you wanted.  Just go gently for a bit -- sometimes there's a good reason things happen, and we just don't know it when we're going through the tough stuff, but it becomes apparent later on.  Take care of yourselves, and hugs to all.
