Close.  My sailor's is Nov. 3.  Same astrological sign, though.

Wait, Mary, when is your sailor's birthday?  Could our boys share a b-day?

I too am finding the Sub Moms page very informative!

About graduation:  the only graduation ceremony we made was Power School, and it was great.  Over 300 sailors graduating.  I did get a mom to take a pic of my son at his A school grad, and I paid it forward at Power School grad for a couple of sailors--one of them was Mary(MMNukesmom)'s sailor!  I had to laugh about prototype grad, though.  We didn't make it, since we had heard it was not as big a deal as the other graduations.  Apparently our sailor agreed.  He texted me that day:  "Oh, graduation was this morning.  About 45 min. long."  When I asked for more details, he said it was OK.  Yup, no biggie to him. Boys!!

SusanK is very correct, sub moms is very active and has a lot of helpful information.

NancyJo and Bainite, I raised my son to be very independent and in March 08, I don't think that there were a lot of parents at Prototype graduation.  He was in the performing div at boot camp, but volunteered not to march for his own grad and wasn't even on the floor.  I have a lot of great pics from power school grad, homeport change, port calls, etc from his time on the sub.  He is home for a week in between sea duty and shore rotation.  It has been great to have him around for a week.

Mary MM Nuke mom...exactly what I was told!  But really difficult when you are within 5 minutes of base.

Just wanted to say how much I have learned from this group in the past 14 months.  Had to chuckle over this one and thought others might, also.  Talked to my nuke a couple weeks ago and he casually mentions that he took the widowmaker.  I was like "oh my goodness, you didn't even let me know that was coming up so soon".  He answered - surprised "you know what that is?"  I said "Of course, I AM on N4Ms".  In the past he has been like no big deal whenever I tell him what I am hearing on this site.  Later in the conversation, talking about something else Navy related he says "what are they saying on N4Ms?"  Finally, getting some respect for my Navy knowledge from him - only took 14 months!  LOL

So sorry to hear that, Pat.  What day was his graduation?  Perhaps I or someone else has pictures from that day that we could send you.  We might get lucky, and find him in one or more.

For those of you who just got assigned to a sub. The Sub Moms website is very good and almost as active as Nuke Moms with lots of good information!

Pat, that makes me so sad.  :^(  Sometimes our kids don't understand a mother's heart.

I was actually in Goose Creek to move my son home the day of Prototype grad (had loaded van the previous day). I got up early and checked out of my hotel and drove up to a parking lot near base, so I was ready at a moments notice. He was supposed to call me and tell me where and when to meet him, when he finally did call it was over with and he met me at his apartment to finish the clean up and check out of the apartment, all I had was a folded up certificate that he had stuffed into a pocket, no pix to share, etc...he said it wasn't a big deal.
