Roommates--my son has had the same roommate since arriving in GC.  They PIR'd the same date.  "baby nukes" do end up together; suite mates were in power school at the time.

The balls are looking great!!  I, too, would love to be a neighbor and sample for you :)

hapsmolmr, we stayed at the Residence Inn while at Great Lakes.  Friendly staff. It did have a kitchen but only the refrigerator came in handy as we always ended up ordering tons of food which, as usual, got tossed in the end.

spent a couple of days in chicago after pir since it was closer to o'hare where my sailor's flight was at.  stayed at the renaissance, which was a walking distance to a lot of the shops, shows, must sees.

on roommates in A school, my husband's roommate was in his exact same class all through A school AND was an ET (my husband is an EM). Not sure how rare this is but it is possible to have 2 baby nukes of different rates in the same room. The roommate was also in the officer training program.

Marybeth- No final yet. The only thing that I have going for me right now is his brother is in my class, therefore graduating the same day. If he was just trying to come home for my graduation, I know I wouldn't have a chance.

Makes sense that they don't put 2 new sailors as roomies but put them with someone who has been in A school for a while.  Thanks for the info.  Will pass it on to my SR.  Those who have recently left RTC, which airport did your kids fly out of?  Also, anyone have a recommendation for a hotel in Chicago on or close to the Miracle Mile? There will be 6 of us so was hoping for something like an Embassy Suite or such that could accomodate all of us in one room.

YAY! I'm sure him being home early means you got to talk to him a little more! :)

And as far as phones go.... I have an iphone through AT&T and love it and have great service!

Uhm. They have like a weekly number of points they have to obtain (its called Delta). They get points by studying a subject and then taking a quiz and showing an instructor that they know what they know what they're talking about. Well Aaron got 50 points today which is over 1/3 of this weeks Delta. And it's only Monday!
Plus, he's on reduced hours because he's ahead of the curve which is basically the timeline on when they should have stuff done and how many points they should have when. So he got home early tonight-- less than an hour early, but I'm not complaining!! :)

Emily, what exactly does kicking prototype's butt entail?? That's exciting!
Comment by Emily-aaronsgirl11 on May 23, 2011 at 7:39pm

Aaron got the Droid X when he was home.. He dropped his Droid Incredible when he was home in October and it busted the whole screen. His dad was super nice and gave Aaron his update. Now I don't have to listen to him complain about how sucky his screen looks.

On another note, Aaron is kicking Prototype's BUTT! I'm so proud of him and I had to have a brag moment. :)

Maddie you can get spare batteries on Amazon.com I got one for my Droid X for $8 delivered it was genuine Motorola I bet you can find HTC.

One thing I forgot to mention that was excellent we took a coach tour of Charleston by Palmetto Coach Tours and we had picked up my son after class Friday he was wearing dress whites I asked how much is it for 4 of us well has asked my son are you in the US Navy? And he said Yes so the guy said "No charge for you" and the rest of us got a discount. That was great. People in Charleston were very patriotic folks were constantly coming up to him to shake hands. On Sat. we saw Thor in 3D and took his buddy too we only had to pay $6.50 each the guy gave us all the military discount usually here in NH a 3D film is about $12. Then when we drove back to the Wingate to pick up his car another Navy guy shook hands with them both and said he was retired after 20 years. I was very impressed by the people in SC.
