Dear Emily (Aaron's Girl),

You may already be asleep, and it's getting close to time, so I want to be the first to wish you a very Happy 18th Birthday tomorrow.  I hope you have a terrific day and have had a great time partying and celebrating.  Best Wishes to you for a fabulous year.

Colleen,

Yes, I do remember the holiday weekends, but it is a very long way to come to Phoenix, with the time changes and all.  He'd come home for a day and a half and have to go back.  BUT.......I might find myself going back there to visit him.  I would love to do it alone.  We will see.  Or maybe I could meet him half way and see something new.   I think he has plans to try to get down to Disney World while he's back there, so maybe he already has plans for those holiday weekends. :)

Kat MM(Nuke mom),

Don't forget, they have a 3 day wkend for the forth of July.  My son had liberty (didn't count as leave) last 4th of July and took the train home. Maybe yours can do that also.  There is also Memorial Day wkend.  Nate should be in Prototype by then and probably won't have it off or the 4th, depend on the schedule.

Colleen, that sounds like a nice weekend in Charleston.  We are going for a whole week at the end of March.  He comes home then goes back for 2 weeks then we go there.  Kind of crazy, but we already had the trip planned before we knew he was getting leave, plus driving his truck back to him.  Will see him a lot in March then probably nothing through t-track and power school.  Very sad.  That long stretch will be the true test because we haven't been without seeing him for that long yet.

We had a great 3 day weekend with Nathan last weekend.  He really enjoyed it too, kept saying what a great day it was each day!  We walked Charleston Sat. afternoon. we went to Partiots Point on Sunday-really cool and Monday we went to the beach, just looked at the fort there and drove around Isle of Palms.  Ate supper at Hymans in  Charleston.  Very good seafood, very reasonable prices, little hard to find parking though. I miss my son, can't wait to see him at Power school grad.  Hope he finds out soon where he'll go for Protype.

My son graduates A school this coming Friday, March 4.  He gets 10 days leave he said.  don't know when he starts power school yet.

He is coming home to Phoenix on Saturday and staying until the following Sunday.

akmom- my fiance had almost 2 weeks, just to give you a different perspective. They can ask their SLPO about how much time they think they'll have.

Thank you Colleen-it sure does. I will bank on one week and ope I do not have to pay a change fee.  These tickets can quickly get expensive for these sailors
