Kat, I'm on the West Coast also.  Getting to SC is not an easy task let alone the expense!  I pray Joe will be stationed on the West Coast one day.

Goodness, i meant he is in the "hole".  I hate that when you look back and see a spelling error.

Hi Kat, my son is still a few days in the hole on leave from Christmas, and his girlfriend was coming down in April during spring break to visit family and check out her college choice (at Charleston) one more time, so he wasn't going to come home. However, I dangled a nice bait in front of him (our old car, for $1000) so just maybe he might come home so he could drive it back.  I told him if he comes home in late March or during April, I'll pay him to night-watch the foaling cameras ... he said he's not that stupid anymore to fall for that old trick! ha ha now that they're nukes, they've smartened up considerably!!

Aaron was told the same thing with Power School... They were told they would class up immediately after their 10 day leave. Then the day before graduation plans were changed.. And it was 2 months before they actually classed up.

Connie - I havne't heard anything for your son's class, but my son is 3 weeks behind yours and he said they keep changing things around.  first it was 2-3 months on t-track, then early last week it was 3 weeks, then it was 1-1-1 during t-track (one day cleaning, one day watch, one day off with muster and PT in the morning), but by the end of last week he heard 3-3-2-2 (3 day son, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off).  It's just so flipping hard to make plans not knowing.

Is your son taking the 10 days of leave right when t-track begins?  My son made it sound like if he didn't take it then, there was not guarantee of when he might get it.

MN Mom- What would you like to know about the Villas?

They're located on base in the married housing section. It's extremely easy access, but it's in a safe place compared to the rest of Goose Creek. You can get a two or three bedroom (maybe even four) villa. It includes a bathroom (with towels) a washer, dryer, kitchen, and living room. There's a TV in the master bedroom, and a TV and DVD player in the living room. There's also a couch and an oversized chair in the living room. The dining room is connected to the living room and has a good sized table (6 chairs, I believe). The kitchen has utensils and such to cook meals. And a small breakfast type table. As mentioned, it's not a five star hotel or anything, but it's really nice that it feels like home. They used to be apartments, but now they rent them out for weekends and such.

Only military members (or those with a military ID) can book the rooms, and it must be done through the ITT office. That number is in the discussion above: Hotels and accommodations in Goose Creek. Your sailor can also book by stopping by the ITT office.. I believe it's down the road from the MiniNex and across from the Dive.

They run about 60-70 a night, but there are no taxes. They fill up quickly on Power School graduation weekends and on Holiday weekends. On those weekends, they must be paid for up front with a minimum 3 night stay- no refunds.

Hope this answers any questions you have, and if it doesn't, ask away. :)

Aw man, just got a call from my son, graduated A school on Friday and expected to move to power school in 2 weeks ... now thinks it might be 11 weeks. He says they really can't spend the time taking a course for college credit. Anybody else hear anything about the t-track time for this group?

Hi, I have read a little of what is posted about Villas,  I'd like a little more info

please.  I have booked flight for mid March to visit our Sailor.

Thanks Marybeth.  We'll only buy and take small things so even if we leave anything behind for someone else to use, there won't be a lot of it.
