aaronsgirl and Kat,  I agree with both of you on our sailors being under 21.  Yes, I'm happy mine is only 19.  I am also happy that he has ways to de-stress.  He's also said he doesn't want to do anything that would jeopardize him staying in the nuke program, so he's staying far away from anything that would do that, and that includes drinking underage.  I wish everyone under the drinking age, even non-military, would feel compelled to obey the law, but, well, we know that doesn't happen.  Plus, I think my son is pretty good about watching his money, and cokes are pretty cheap!  ;)

I agree about drinking with the buddies to relieve stress, but my son now is off campus and has an apt. (waiting for prototype) so I worry about his driving back from the Dive. I hope he stays in his apt. with friends who also rent in the apt complex.

I added a discussion above which contains master lists of various groups. Of course the one you would be most interested in in the near future will be the list of groups associated with ship. But check out the other lists - they may come in handy.

Thanks moms. You are a great group of moms. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Good upbringing plus good DNA - a winning combination.

BunkerQueenBee...Thanks for the great advice, I too sent it along.  My son just started Power school a few weeks ago and he is stressing.  I know he works out and has enough distractions but in his own words he is finding himself having bouts of panic.  TOday he said he was panic stricken because  he thought he failed a test that he actually got a 3.2 on.  He was thrilled with the score and it was middle of the road.  I really don't think he holds himself to being at the top shich I think is really good,  I think he is afraid of not making it.  It really eats at our guts when we can do nithing and I know for a (little) control freak like me that hard. :)  I guess I do what I can.  Talk positive, don't share the worries of home and send him my love and care packages when I can.  Of course at this point the USPS owns me and I REALLY don't like them.  Once again today I had a run in with them.  WHat is it with the people they hire.  My aplogies to anyone with close connections to USPS employees.  THey really need to make it more user friendly.  I sent a package today and after the guy posted the postage to the machine he told me if I mailed it in a Priority mail envelope I would have saved 4 bucks.  I paid 8.50 to send 10.50 of beef jerky.  Of course it is my son's favorite kind that he can't get in SC.  He also immediately informed me their was nothing he could do to take the postage back, I sent it parcel post.  GOod thing beef jerky doesn't go bad.  Stuck a few Subway cards in there too.

Amanda, I agree with you about Delta and the military.  Had lots of problems with my son this holiday season when he had a head injury at the airport and even before that on the trip here.  He had his orders changed and they could do little to help us.  I think we should boycott them.

Hi NicksMom can you share with us the APO-address part of the Goose Creek address or explain how you entered it?  I would not mind ordering the Hickory Farms gift package myself thanks.  That one is a really good deal.

JUST FOR THE RECORD I LOVE CONTINENTAL AIRLINES! I just had to make an emergency flight for saturday morning and i got a discount that couldn't be beat anywhere. Sadly, its not for the best circumstances, death in the family, but the reservation lady I talked to was so nice (and patient considering I had to ask my fiance on skype before telling her answers). got a flight for probably 600+ down to 400 with military discount

And I really hate delta. Hung up on that lady saying "i can't believe you don't have room for a Military Service member, goodbye" felt reeeal good lol

Any one who tries to get by with drinking and driving when they're in the military (especially the Nuke program) is just plain dumb. They will find you, and you WILL be kicked out of the military. No questions asked. No honorable discharge, no chance at time in the brig, no chance of being rerated. You're kicked out. Period.

I drove Aaron home many nights when he was home for Christmas break. Some of the late nights he walked home... But I agree. Thank goodness for the Dive. :)
