For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I told him I needed his class number so I could connect on Navy4Moms. He laughed and said as soon as he has it, he would let me know.

Mine grads this Friday and will not class up until after the stand down, so I am trying to figure out if he will class up right after the new year or if it will be a week or so after that.

I had a wonderful trip. :)
We had Thanksgiving dinner with some guys from his class and their wives. It was delicious. :) We got to spend some time at the beach, and we attempted black friday shopping. Bad idea. I even got to meet the famous Casey from Navyformoms.com :)
And I did think of you ladies while I was gone... Every time I saw another sailor I couldn't help but wonder if he was one of your sons. :)

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on November 27, 2010 at 10:38pm: My son told me on Wed. night that they (meaning the higher ups) don't want them to travel in their uniforms, so he said he'd be wearing his civilian clothes on the plane at Christmas. He said it makes them a target and they prefer them not to wear the uniforms. Has anyone else heard that? I personally think it robs them of people thanking them for their service and those thanks are what really make them feel like they are doing something important, as if they didn't already know that.

When my boyfriend said he's be wearing his uniform home for christmas, i got a little excited to be hugging him and walking through the airport with my man in uniform. And i told him i'll be making him a super cute welcome home poster to see how much i can embarrass him. he seemed more excited for it than embarrassed :)
