Wendy (Mom of Michael) - my son is also 0803 class - he has said nothing about graduating early July - when did you hear this?? I am just curious if this is a for sure or not.

I haven't been able to talk to Spencer much because he is on days right now, and working and then going home and going right to bed. I will call him tonight though to see what he has heard about graduating early July.

Regarding the prayers - I went back about 3 pages, and gathered that someone didn't pass a test, and is stressing about retesting on it. I will keep, and always do, our sailors in my prayers. It is so hard. I know Spencer was stressing for a while because he was falling behind, but now has finally caught up, and feels he is a little ahead, and it really working on keeping up with things.

Prayers out for everyone!!!

Kelly - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your son. My son is in the next grad class (6/5) and I am sure I will be stressing too. Please keep us posted. I know you have had a restelss night. You've got a lot of moms sending your prayers and hugs.

I'm sorry about the news Kelly - bear in mind though that they want to find a reason to pass him in the ac board. Power school is more of a hurdle than prototype is - it ain't over by a long shot...

Janie--if you don't find the name of the bakery, contact me asap! I will be at Goose Creek on Friday and could make my sailor do a delivery. If so, ask to be put on my friends list so we can private message.
Comment by Anti M on April 7, 2009 at 12:52am
Send packages via US mail only. Fedex and UPS cannot deliver to your sailor directly; they may very well end up in the mailroom anyway, or at best, the offices of the barracks or school. If it is a weekend, he isn't getting them. Let him know a package is coming so he can doublecheck with the mail PO, sometimes the message that a package is in doesn't get delivered right away.

Navy uniforms... sigh. Get any group of sailors together, from any era, and we'll moan and complain about how odd the regs are and how annoying the constant changes have been.
Comment by Mark on April 4, 2009 at 2:41am
What a shame - I was really hoping that the new working uniforms, being similar to those of the other services, with different camo colors, would finally end the curious practice that amounts to the Navy being the only service that is ashamed to have it's members appear in public in their working uniform.
