Debbie - as far as I know there will be no refresher. They just have to pick up where they left off.

Also, how do you get the songs for your page? And a slideshow? I asked before about the slideshow, but couldn't figure it out.

I know that Spence got his passport right away when he got to NY - but I think that was because him and his friends were going to Canada for weekends.

I pray everyday for our sailors - that they can come home for xmas, that they are safe, that if they can't come home for xmas they have somewhere to go, and for those overseas - be safe and we are praying and thinking about you!

Debbie - He has not been in school since October. Needless to say he is going crazy!!!!! He was supposed to graduate Feb. 20 but we know that is not happening at all. From what I am hearing, if they start back up after xmas like they are supposed to, he will probably graduate around April.

Is your son at NY Debbie?
Comment by Trina (Spencer's Mom) on December 14, 2008 at 8:37pm
My son has never been instructed to NOT wear his uniform. So that is a new one on me.

Regarding prototype - my son is there now - I am not trying to guilt anyone, or diasagree, but any graduation from school during the Navy I am going out of my way to make it. I went to boot camp, and A school, and at this point am looking at cancelling my cruise for next year because I don't know when Spence will be graduating. From what I am hearing about how far out the delay is at this point, it will be right around the time I go on my cruise.

Spence is going aircraft after prototype, and he is hoping to get West Coast, but I really don't know how that works. As far as where subs or aircraft usually end up.

Mom - how long did it take you to get there? Is your son not coming home for xmas? Spence and quite a few others from NY are.

Karen-- did you tell those nuke boys to bring some warmer weather with them?
Good bye beaches, hello ice storms of New Hampshire

Now, see I asked Spence if he was going to wear his uniform, and he said probably not. But I thought maybe he should. 9 times out of 10 I can pick a military person out, even if they aren't in uniform. I told him he should wear it, just because if he is delayed, or needs to catch his connecting quickly, if he is in uniform, he might get that little extra help to get him to where he needs to be. I don't want to sound like it is special treatment, but let me tell you - I see someone in uniform, and I am going out of my way to make sure that they get what they need, especially around the holidays.

I am so glad to hear that you all are getting your nukes home for xmas!!!! Spence got his ticket last night - a little over $500 for round trip, but not horrible. His grandfather - on my ex's side - asked why he didn't drive instead and save the money. Let's see - two days here, two days back, possibility of hitting bad weather along the way - why take 4 days away from home when he can fly and that is what he wanted to do. Obviously i don't talk to them much!!!

We have NOT got any snow here yet - I see anymore rain and it wrecks the snow I already have I am going to be mad!!!! I want snow!!!!
